I started birth control last month and I had a period, but this month it is late. Just wasn't sure about periods since I heard that if you are breast feeding full time you won't get one.

If your breast feeding and on the pill it is more than likely a POP pill and what most people think of as THE PILL. POPs are progestien (sp) only pill. you can safely breast feed while on these pills. Also it depends on how your body heals ect. Even breast feeding full time you can get your period back. I was irregular but started my periods shortly after two months postpardum .

Also if you miss a feeding/pumping you need to use protection. as it is not full strenght pills. (thats how i ended up with baby #2).

Every person is different so unless you think you could be pregnant again relax you should be fine.

More than likely the birth control pill will cause you to get a period.

Remember though that the birth control pill and breastfeeding do not in any way interfere with home pregnancy tests.

And when on the pill if you miss two periods in a row you should talk to your doctor.

You generally don't get periods when you are breast feeding but the birth control changes that. Also, I found out, much to my chagrin, that when the breastfeeding baby starts sleeping through the night and eating solids, some mothers get their periods again. Not fair.

If you're on birth control, you still have a period.
But if you're breast feeding, your periods can be irregular
