its an acoustic solutions tv with a DVI connection.
i bought a HDMI cable with 2 DVI adaptors...
but still no sound...

hey great buy, all you need is some phono connections ( red / white ) from the ps3 to the audio input of tv or surround system.

Welcome to the screwy world of DVI. It can be analog video (RGB or component), digital video, single link, dual link, you name it. There are at least 6 possibilities. In no case, will DVI carry audio, however. This should serve as a warning to others.... assume nothing when dealing with DVI. Find out what it will do and what it won't do before you use it.

HDMI carries sound and video, but DVI is video only, you will have to get the sound from the audio in/out connections at both ends!

I guess in the end you want to solve your problem by connecting your PS3 & DVI monitor with high quality video and sound. I read about GameSwitch could solve this issue and it supposed to arrive in Australia soon, but still haven't seen it...
