That must be so interesting.

Creation myths have traditionally been chanted so keep people going in times of sickness. I think the important point to note is that this a community concern version of health care, but it's only trying for real love. It's not the same thing. It's also partly political, because it tells the sufferer what the "rules" are about keeping on going in the community. I think that this is because the addictions that people have tend to clash with each other's so sickness seems an ideal time for some people to lay the rules down.

The Bible talks about this in 2 Timothy 4:3, 4
3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

Try some other books first before you make a decision.

Here are some suggestions.

"The Case for God"

"The Case for Christ"

"The Case for Creationism"

"Religion and Evolution"

After all, you do need to consider BOTH sides of the equation before you can solve it. If not, you become exactly what you accuse us Christians of being : close-mined, intolerant, bigots, brain-dead, brain-washed, etc.

None of them - that's why their called "Myths."

Seriously - Let the book fall open randomly and just pick one with your eyes closed. ;-) Sounds like a book for the beach - yes? no? Could be used as a good conversation starter with a real person (not just online).

The one that is not quite the most ludicrous.
Run it past an average six year old.
If they tell you "it's just silly", or words to that effect, you've found The One.
Failing that, anything that requires blind obedience to the Creator Spirit.
You can't really go wrong if you stick with the combination of "Fear" and "So stupid a child can see through it".

Myths aren't literal, they are metaphorical. It's about primitive man trying to come up with an explanation for things, at a time when we didn't have telescopes and such to explain why we have lights in the sky, for example. Go with whatever one makes the most sense to you, I guess....

Only 10,000?

Have he put the one about us spontaneously being created from the exhaust fumes of Dave's souped up Ford Escort Cosworth in yet?

Pick them all. Who cares how we were created? I am too busy living today to worry about yesterday and tomorrow will take care of itself.
