You can take it to your local vet, and they can use the carcus to study it, cremate it or even perhaps to help other cats.
You could also bury it, if you think you could handle thinking about it everytime your out near it.

You sure got some weird answers, wonder what kind of person would take the death of your cat as a joke, sorry you have to read those answers. People with those answers do not own or love cats and shouldn't be on this web-site. Okay now if you you live in an apartment it would be difficult to find a place to bury it, if you can't do it yourself, perhaps a friend could help you deal with this, or call your vet for advice. I know that if my kitty died I wouldn't be able to it myself. The vet is your best bet, very sorry for your loss, I have a very soft spot for cats or pets of any kind. Hope you can find a reasonable solution, Bye.

If you want to give it a proper "ceremony" you could freeze your little kitty until you can bury it. And when you bury it, you should wrap it in plastic, and then make sure you dig a hole deep enough in an area away from foot traffic (like in the woods) so that other animals will not dig it up.

Freezing it may seem crazy, but like another poster said, keeping the dead animal in the house is not good for you or anyone in your household.

Your very best bet is to bury it , you can make a small coffin out of a wooden box then dig a hole deep enough for it and but some kind of cross or flowers on top of it. you may also put you cats favorite blanket. toys, or anything else your cat loved in the box with it .

I am sorry to hear of the loss of your cat.

A vet's can dispose of it for you. They will have the body cremated, and you can choose to have the ashes back.

You can also bury the cat yourself, but you might want to check with the local authority or ask around, it's illegal to bury animals in some areas.

Burning it is the best way to dispose of a dead animal. It will kill any bacteria that may have developed since the animals death and it will prevent other animals digging it up later.
Build a bonfire and cremate your kitty.
