What do you think the world would be like if there were no religion?

Mankind has since the very beginning felt deep within himself the need for God and even in these modern times that basic need is still prevalent and instinctive, God met this need by revealing Himself to Abraham and later through His Son Jesus Christ and the world was never going to be the same again, people have tried all down the ages to fight against God`s truth and will continue to do so , others have accepted it into their heart,so conflict is going to be with us until the end.
When enough people believe and show that belief then a religion is inevitable,and the proper use of that religion will draw others to it,the misuse will repel others.
Religion does need it`s checks and balances I fully agree, but without this sense and responsibility to God I believe that the world would be such a dark and frightening place for us to live in.

I think the world and its humans are in a constantly evolving process. We homo sapiens started out living in caves, and now look at us. Religion also started out when we were living in caves. And I think, with universal education across the globe, mankind's need for religion will fall naturally away to be replaced by the glory of Science and understanding of the Truth.

It would most probably be no different. People would still have all of the vices, and they would find some reason to justify their behavior. Religion is often a crutch to justify what one desires to do. If there was no religion, then mankind would find some other justification.

there would always be religion in the world.... maybe it wouldnt be God or Allah.. but there would be something...coz people need to believe something and hope and wish... it could be sun, sky, water and anything.... i believe in God and i think who is using the religion to start a war is evil... and the world would actually be a better place without people.. coz they are the one killing the earth, killing eachother, fighting all the time, killing animals, hunting, stealing, bombing... lots of things people can harm.. also there are people who are still so nice and trying to change things... hope we become more of them

Gee, I see this question a lot.
I keep meaning to answer it, too.
But who wants to hear me say, over and over, how much better a place the world would be without religion?
How much less misery there would be.
How much less war, and injustice, and suffering.
I'm not saying there wouldn't be 'Evil', but it wouldn't be institutionalised.
The world'd be a pretty nice place.

I'm a man of faith, not a man of Religion.
I keep my beliefs to myself, because I believe that is the right way.
But that's just me.

we would defiantly be fighting over politics more. and honestly... i think ALOT of people use religion as a crutch.. i think some people just need the concept (and that isnt wrong, so long as it isnt causing harm).. if we didnt have it.. i think there would more chaos.

the world would be upside down...all weak & poor people gonna die..there will be no rights...simply there will be no FAIR,,,,so thank God that there is a religion & rules that control us.
