This I believe is due to .....Almost all Pagan and Wiccan beliefs are based in a time when people were more open to others, and believe in doing so brought them closer to their God/Goddess. They understood that we are all part of the skein of Nature and that how we treated others would affect us in the afterlife. In the Egyptian life...A harsh word would weigh on your soul...and would be counted when your soul was weighed. Too many harsh things said or even thought would pull your soul towards destruction, While a friendly word or thought ....Would bring you closer to rebirth. Many of us Pagans and Wiccans still belive in this.

I have now not performed ones that might have a outcome like that. I do "allow justice be performed" or cure rituals, or in any other case striking my will and vigour into anything that's going down, however now not in some way that might be testable within the outcome. The just one I ever did like that (again while I was once new at this) failed, however now I am very happy it did. Part of the main issue is understanding what my real will is, and the way what I am running on will finally are compatible into my real will. In that case, the person who failed, I was once being very quick-sighted, taking into consideration quick-time period earnings (which might or would possibly not have occurred besides) alternatively of long term ones. I have got to say that I don't feel in spells of the variety you appear to recommend. I don't bury a boiled egg in urine in a mason jar in the dark underneath the brand new moon, or disembowel small animals for materials in potions. I usually gentle a candle of the proper symbolic colour, and incense which corresponds to my purpose (and HOPEFULLY to my real will), and meditate. I additionally learn Tarot playing cards, however that is divination, now not a spell.

We're not, so shut up. Hehe
Seriously though, there are nice Pagans and there are not so nice Pagans, just as there are with any other sort of people. Many Pagans have suffered discrimination and such though, so they tend to have open minds and are interested in listening to other people. Most Pagans in the U.S. were not raised Pagan, so they found out about Paganism through listening or doing research out of curiosity. People who listen and are interested in other points of view tend to be perceived as nice.
However, I have met some Pagans who are not very nice. They do exist.

Pagans (and Wiccans) are Ppl too.
Is it just human nature that Absolute power corrupts absolutely? Christians were "nicer" before they became a "majority". Now it seems to be only used for a marketing or damage control technique. Too bad.
M. Ghandi stated "My religion is kindness" and accepted all faiths, using his base faith as a spring board for the beginning of understanding.

They are the underdog. They know they aren't generally accepted, so they have to to be at least somewhat accepted. In times when many pagan beliefs are strong in history, they've been as war like as any other culture or belief system. Those aspects of "Paganism" (a catch-all phrase, not a true representation of any one group) which are totally new haven't been tested until they've gained power, and thus don't yet have a representative profile to be able to say, "They are friendlier than other groups".
That's like judging everyone you've know for years as unfriendly compared to a newcomer who just arrived and is on his best manners. Or with older traditions, like having a newly returned friend who was very ill-mannered come back and judging them friendly because when they returned, they were nice (even though they just returned and HAD to be nice to get in).
Islam is being forced into the same mode in the United States, where in Islamic countries they don't hesitate to be quite aggressively hateful, as they are the majority. Show your religion in an Islamic country is a good way to get arrested in most of them.
I suppose we could have different definitions of "nice". I've read most of the holy books of Islam, grimoires, done immense research on wicca and religions of all sorts. It's surprising to me what people consider acceptable behavior in different belief systems (Atheism - the kind that absolutely believes God doesn't exist - included).
At the same time, due to that behavior, they often attract very nice people. You may go pagan! They may see your post and go Islamic!
I hope they aren't that foolish and would do some research before joining a religion or belief system of ANY sort (or giving one up, of course). There are nice people all over the world in almost all of them.

They follow the true nature of their spirits. I know some too, and I agree, besides my brethren in Islam, they are the nicest people I would take as my own in heart. Pangel, for example, is one of the sweetest. She's always trying to cheer people up and set the fact straight. Good question! :)
EDIT: Lokasenna, the real one with the Top Contributor badge, is also one of the nicest people I've met and consider close to my heart. But she is not a Pagan or Wiccan. Hey, sister Azra, how about including "heathens" (that's her word, not mine, lol) in that?

it's sweet of you to say so! i attend many pagan festivals and have met pagans from all different paths. most that you run into generally have the same outlook on life. we're open minded, non materialistic, non judgemental, inclusive, respectful, yearn to learn, easy going, fun, kind, thoughtful, and don't try to convert people. there are bad apples in every bunch, but once non pagans get past the false stereotypes about us, they realize that we're pretty good people. thanks for noticing!

Well, it is because they follow there principles. I am sure there are some that are not nice, just as there are mean people of all religions. For the most part, if Christains followed there teaching, they would be nice to. It is all about sticking to what you believe and living your life according to those beliefs.

Cool to see my name mentioned, never really thought of myself as nice. :P
Anyways, I just wanted to say just about all the Muslims I've met on here have been very kind folk. When people are kind to me, I will surely return the favor. Hospitality is after all a virtue.

It all comes with the philosophy. You can't be a nasty person and believe what Wiccans do.
Although, I have found when trying to get into a coven, they can be rather cliquey and tightknit.
