you only need to do it 3 times a week.
if you are trieing to lose weight - crunches will only make it bigger since fat doesnt go anywhere and muscle builds underneath it. you cant choose which body part to lose the weight off - it has to be overall weight loss.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

There are two points that you want to tackle here.
1) Like most people have said, it is not good to do it everyday. If you do so you will end up burning out the muscle. But a way around that is to work a part of your ab in different days, that way you can push yourself a little more on those areas rather that the whole group of muscle. the best way is to work of upper and lower abs one day, and then your internal oblique the other day.
2) Although exercises help you loose some fat around your waist, the best thing you can do is to eat properly. You can workout all they long, and run 10 miles daily, but if you don't eat right, you will never be able to loose the belly fat.
GOOD LUCK!!!!

After working any area of the body yous should wait 48 hours before working that area again. The reason for this is that it takes that long for the body to increase the muxcle mass. This is also true for the abs.

That's the worst thing to do to yourself. Work out the abs about 3times a week, but never consequtively or you might seriously injure yourself, since there's alot of organs near the stomache. Quick bursts of 5mins every couple of days would work. When I mean quick bursts, do as much as you can, as fast as you can. If you work slowly and try to conserve energy, your body will turn on this switch that'll think it's going to war, and conserve food inside the body, meaning if you eat, it will hold on to it, and make you fat/easily fat.

Any muscles that you work out, especially strength training, need a good days rest before the next workout. Listen to your instructors, they know best.

training the abs will only strengthen the muscles of the mid-section they have no effect on fat loss in that area as you can't spot reduce fat. your diet will ultimately determine how fast your pouch goes away. exercise only provides the stimulus the diet provides the nutrients that the body needs to function at optimum efficiency. the healthier the diet the quicker results will be seen

abs are one of the muscles in the body that recovers the quickest so it would probably not be a problem to work on them if they are not still sore from the previous workout. If your muscles are sore from a previous workout do not work them out until they are not. soreness means your muscles are recuperating from the previous workout.
Also to get those abs showing make sure you do your cardio to burn your excess body fat

even if you do it everyday, youre muscles will become use to the work load and adapt to it, although not as quickly as if you took some days off. if you really want to work them everyday, do it, but take one day off a week to recover some. youll be able to do more next time.

It's not recomendable because when you work out your abs everyday what happens it's that they become small Shrinks, compared to letting them rest, When you rest them they tend to become larger longer and better looking.
