Church, with out getting so emotional. I don't go to church very often, but when I do, I can't control my self and feel like crying. I just don't know why.

That is because the Holy Spirit of God is moving on you and dealing with the issues in your life. The reason you are crying is because the Holy Spirit is trying to bring healing and relief to some issues you are going through in your life. This is a good thing. By crying, it means you are open to the Spirit of God and the Lord can effectively minister to you. If you keep going your going to see the Holy Spirit bring some break throughs in your spirit.

I've done that too, and for along time I didn't know why, even if i hadn't gone to church for months, I'd start crying. I started praying one night, and totally confessed everything to God, everything I felt, and did, and thought. After that, when i went to church, it didn't happen like that any more. Now when i cry like that, it's more like an overflowing love and gratefulness to God for all He's done, because I know i don't deserve it. sometimes the Power of God and His Presence is so strong, it just overwhelms you with emotion. Maybe you're just more sensitive and able to sense His Presence, you cry tears of joy. Remember the story of Mary Magdeline, how she cried at Jesus' feet, and dried the tears with her hair? Well, could it be that you love Him so much it overflows, like she did, in His Presence? Or could it be that because you want to please Him so much, that you have alot of unconfessed sin in your heart that you've maybe just been too busy to stop and pray, so when you do go to church, it all floods to the surface?

I'm no saint either, I've guilty of this myself. I'm just being honest, because it took me years to understand, that my relationship with God isn't only when i go to church or when i have a problem. It's 24-7

It is a natural response to being in the presence of God. Many Christian people cry uncontrollably during praise and worship in church. Next time, don't fight it; it is cleansing and cathartic.

It's hard to know when these posts are serious. But I want you to know that your question is a good one to ask God. If you can open yourself up and invite him to help you be honest with yourself and with him, no matter how hard it is to look at the answers, I'm confident he'll help you with the answer.
