I own a Nissan Pulsar '89 Sedan (I think its a Pulsar GL or Vector or something). It has no power steering and I am struggling with it.

Is it possible to have power steering installed in it, and if so, how much would it cost and are there any reccommended places to do it at (In Sydney, Australia).

I am DESPERATE!

It would be difficult to shoehorn a power steering pump into a car not made for one; no space on the engine, no place to mount it, no belt made to accomodate it. Plus, you'd have to replace the entire steering system to make use of it and hope that you can find one that fits this car.

The money you'd put into this project would go far beyond what the car is worth. You'll do a whole lot better by getting something a bit newer than 18 years old.

I think it is time to go car shopping. Or work out your upper body and drive a 17 year old car.

you can spend a small fortune or live with it by making sure your tires are fully inflated and attempting to turn the wheel only when the car is in motion. dont fight it.
