The amount of megapixels has nothing to do with storage capacity, but rather image quality, You have to look at megabyte or gigabyte capacity to know how many pictures a camera can hold.
Most pictures are between 5 and 10 kilobytes.

It is not the pixels but the memory chips, I have a Fugi with 4 mega pixels and a 512 memory chip. It holds about 450 shots with the quality of the photos good enough to be published on the net on a hockey blog weekly. Hope that helps?.
Generally, with more memory you can crank up the quality. My new camera has 10 MP and a 2 gig chip. I have already started saving for at least an 8 chip for the NHL rookie camp in September. More Power!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I just wanted to add I hope you know what type of memory card you are using. As many of the others mention 4megapixels refers to the size of your picture.
You should figure out what type of Memory your camera takes. More than likely its an SD card unless you have the following camera brands:
Fuji , Olympus ------ xd card
Sony ------------------ Memory Stick or Memory Stick Duo Pro
go the link i give you, i love that site!!!!

it depends on what your settings for image quality are. mega pixels are for the quality not quantity. For more pics you buy a larger SD card or whatever memory attachment is compatible for your camera.

Depends on many factors
a) How much memory you have: 16 MBytes? 256 Mbytes? etc.
b) Depends on the quality of your pictures (most cameras allow you 2-3 quality levels)
