When I was little, at Sears, they used to do portraits where your kid's portrait would be on black, and then in the top corner, the kid's profile (side view) would be semi-transparent. When you mentioned the twin you lost, I thought of that. Whatever symbol you choose for your twin, it might be nice to recognize the twin that passed by shadowing the object, as if there are two objects - one in the background and see-through.

Or perhaps a branch with flowers on it (cherry blossoms?), with two flowers representing your two girls, and one flower that's off the branch, blowing away...

just off the top of my head. I'm a better client than an artist. ;) Best wishes.

Well, a friend of mine also had one of her twin daughters die & she got a tattoo on her left shoulder blade of a red rose with the name of the daughther that died written below it. Between her shoulder blades, the words "You'll meet again" is written & on her right shoulder blade there is an identical red rose with her other daughters name under it.

As for all of your children...I'm not really too sure. Maybe something that has to do with an angel? Like, maybe the other twin could be the gurdian angel? I'm not too sure...but good luck!

Something with meaning huh? Well how can a load of strangers give you ideas that are meaningful to you? Only you can decide what is meaningful, to some people their butterfly tattoos are deeply meaningful, it's just not your taste, that's all. Sorry but this is something you have to research and decide for yourself.

I have a 2 1/2 year-old son and I want to get a blue heart with his name and birthdate inside of it. I also lost a baby girl (21 weeks along) Last Aug and I want to get a little angel with a pink dress with her name in it. We are trying for another baby probably around the end of Aug and when I am done having kids I will get my tattoos.

For mine I took the actual baby foot prints from the hospital and had them tattoed on me with their names and dates of birth beneath....it's so great to know that no matter how big they get I'll still have their tiny newborn feet there with me forever.

All about personality. You want something for the whole family? Something 'Family-ish'. Your whole family will have to agree, and I believe that one whole big thing for your family is the best!
Keep looking it up on the net for more ideas, and even plan a draft. Do it with your whole family - it'll be fun adn will bring you close together!

Do you have a friend that can draw well? If so have him/her make a custom one for you. Then take it to your tattooer. Some tattooers will charge you less for bringing in custom work. Or at least mine does.
