Here's a site that compares several different flea/tick control products... scroll down to the chart: http://www.dog.com/flea.asp?category=fle...

I prefer Bio-spot because it protects against several things that the others do not.

Sorry for some reason the link above sent you to the companies main page, I will try again: http://www.dog.com/flea.asp?Category=Flea%20%26%20Tick

Lets see....first off STAY AWAY FROM HARTZ, they are not a good product & in a lot of cases have causes burning sickness & up to death in cats & dogs. Im sure there are people who have used it & had no side effects but the chances of negative response from your pet is much igher than other products & we love our pets right so why take the chance?? Not to mention anyone who I know that has tried it has never been happy w the results.........BioSpot Ive tried & still found that my pets had a lot of fleas the others you mentioned Ive not heard any reviews on or used myspef...I use Advantage & find it works GREAT & being as any other product Ive used was not to great results I find I spent more money in the long run tryin gto find something that actually worked than if I had just bought the aAdvantage in the first palce...no need for other products for your carpet, or the pet bedding or anything else...just Advantage
BEST OF LUCK TO YOU

Typically, no. Some of those brands are better than others, but the majority may reduce fleas somewhat, but won't solve the problem. Also, they may reduce fleas, but ticks is another matter. We tried many of those with dogs and cats and found that there was a higher chance of allergic reaction, skin burns and other problems.

Check Ebay for frontline and revolution. You can usually get it very cheap there from people who bought too much or distributors.

I have used Advantage, Frontline and Hartz. So far I am just as happy with the Hartz.
Each product is a little different tho and uses different ingredients. So really it's just a matter of how big of a problem you have with fleas and ticks (I live in Illinois so winter kills the outdoor fleas) and how strong of a pesticide you are willing to put on your pet or that your pet can tolerate.

No they are NOT as effective and they should NEVER EVER be used..these OTC products are very, very dangerous. They can cause serious skin irritations, skin burns, neurological issues, seizures and death.
I can't tell you the number of pets we see every single year at the hospital with very serious problems because of these OTC products.

My vet told me NEVER to use these products, especially Biospot, which was developed for use on cattle.

They say not to use hatz becuase it burns, and kills dogs and cats. They have allergic reactions to them. My doberman dosent, but other dogs do. Go here: http://www.hartzvictims.com

Look at the stories and dogs and cats who get hurt, and die from it. My dogs have no effect, but dont take the chance.
