I don't think most of these folks got what you meant by "persecuted".
They think their little bashing parties are "persecution".
But I'm very much afraid that if God's spoiled kids here don't start fighting for their rights, we are likely to get a MUCH closer view of real persecution.
I can already hear the beginning rumbles....

..... ummm..... what????
Do you not live in this world with the rest of us?
Have you not been reading the things said here about Muslims (sometimes advocating violence against them)? What about the war against them currently in the Middle East?
Or how about the things said against Wiccans? Did you know that people have taken a pot shot at practicing Wiccans with guns when they're holding ritual in their own garden in the bible belt of the United States? Did you know that a Wiccan soldier cannot have a pentacle carved on his gravestone on his death?
Heck, I've even seen a Buddhist called a Satan worshipper.
Do you even live in this world that you would ask such a question? Go read a newspaper. Go see the nasty things being said by Christians against Atheists just since Monday (take a look at the nasty things said by D'Souza about Atheists after the Virginia Tech Massacre. They're all over the web). .
Honestly... pick up an Anthropology book, learn the history of this world.
Ignorance is no excuse when you should know better than this.
Edit: No, I didn't misunderstand at all. You are trying to make false claims. I provided two examples of persecution against other religions... there's a war going on against the Muslims, and people in the bible belt in the US are shooting at Wiccans doing a ritual in their backyard. If those aren't actions of persecution, I don't know what is.
Just because you don't agree, doesn't make you right. Christianity is the single most powerful and influential religion in the world whose members can get away with pretty much anything they want to do anywhere but in China (Middle East my butt... WAR!!! The Christians are having a pretty damned HUGE effect over there right now).

Oh my goodness no. Jews are probably the most persecuted. Muslims are persecuted in some Christian countries. Hindus are very persecuted by Christians. Native peoples all over the world are persecuted by Christians and Muslims. Buddhists are persecuted in Tibet. Zoroastrians and Baha'is are severely persecuted in Iran. The list goes on and on.

I'll type just a few, unfortunately there is a lot more, but it makes me sad even reading about it:
Islam:
Attacks on mosques in Brisbane (Australia), Paris (France)... Vandalising Muslim graves in England, France, Belgium...The Cronulla riots in Australia.
Buddhists:
In Thailand, over the last few years, have been at least 15 cases of Buddhists being beheaded.
Try typing 'religious persecution' on Wikipedia. The list is endless.
I'm an atheist btw.

I think if anybody is under pressure, then everybody's under pressure.
As far as I can tell, history says that the mutual radicalisation that occurs after oligarchies take over totalitarian-style is the cause of the brutal violence.
The peasantry/bourgeoisie class really doesn't like being told when to go to the toilet. It's not just a matter of not liking it. It's a matter of complete and utter degradation, as in the experiments on citizens in Nazi Germany under Dr Mengele. The total lack of humanity involved in punishing flesh for existing in a natural human state drives people over the edge, I think, if they don't keep praying. There's no safe place on earth except for in the spiritual hiding place that God offers.
Psalm 32:7
You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.
although it looks like love affairs can be this way as well.
Song of Solomon 2:14
He My dove in the clefts of the rock, in the hiding places on the mountainside, show me your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely.

No...atheists hate all faiths that worship what they consider to be a non existant God. Christians are probably a little more vocal about the persecution however because Jesus was persecuted.

Judaism, Islam, almost every religion is attacked with violence. I think Christians have it somewhat easy these days, you know, since majority rules!

Bible advise to Burn the Daughter of Priest if she does sex
Leviticus 21:9
And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.
Genesis
38:24 And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she [is] with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.
A priest's daughter, if found to have lost her virginity without marriage, can receive the death penalty, but in the form of incineration.
How many fundamentalist priests who so easily condemn others would carry out the burning of their daughters if they found them "whoring"?
Cut the hands
Deuteronomy 25:11-12
"When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets: then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her."
A wife would naturally wish to come to the aid of her husband in any way she could if he desperately struggled with an opponent, but the Hebrew law specifically forbade a wife to help her husband in distress if that support consisted of her grabbing the enemy's genitals in an effort to stifle his onslaught. The penalty? Amputation of the hand that fondled the genitals!
Only in an overly obsessive male dominated culture could men create such atrocious laws. As such, the penis ranked sacrosanct in the minds of men (as it still stands today). If a male lost his penis for any reason, he would lose the right to enter a congregation of God. (See Deuteronomy 23:1)
Bible chooses Penalty for Female Births
Leviticus 12:2
Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days; according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean.
Leviticus 12:5
But if she bear a maid child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her separation: and she shall continue in the blood of her purifying threescore and six days.
Comment
A woman who gives birth to a child must undergo a purification ritual lest her "uncleanness" contaminate others. This not only entails her isolation, but also payments to priests for the ritual acts. Thus the male dominators had even made birth dirty.
Notice here that if a woman bears a female child, her isolation must last twice as long as that if she gives birth to a male child! (See also Psalms 51:3-5)
Bible declares, Females are in Inferior than males
I Corinthians 11:3
"But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God."
I Corinthians 11:8-9
"For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man. Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man."
The Bible's decree of male supremacy has kept woman inferior to men for centuries. For the religious, it comes as a sad fact that a human must have a penis to receive any respect or power within the Church.
All woman should realize that such phrases in the Bible has justified for many Christian men, not only their supremacy but a reason to sexually abuse women. (See also I Cor. 14:34-36, I Timothy 2:8-15, I Peter 3:1-7, Ephesians 5:22-24, Col. 3:18-19)
Bible wants to kill love Children
Bible wants to kill adulterous population of Bible Believers. Adulterous population has substantial ratio in Bible Believers.
Revelation 2:22-23
"Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds. And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works."
If anyone thinks Biblical Jesus represents only a peaceful loving soul, then think again. For an act of adultery, Bible would kill innocent children for the adultery of others; hardly fair justice, love, or the concern for human beings.
Some apologists claim that "children" refers to the followers of a cult of Jezebel and not to children birthed from Jezebel. However, if this proved the case, the situation would appear even more horrific, for a cult of believers could number in the dozens, hundreds, thousands, or millions. The deaths of these multitude of cult believers (which would include children within its membership) would only make the moralistic problem far more atrocious.
According to Islamic source the Jesus pbuh was very much compassionate to humanity. We do not believe in corrupted and interpolated bible.
There are more than 41% love children in American population. If you believe in bible. The half of Christian population will be killed.....
Bible Wants to Kill The Witches!
"Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. Whoever lieth with a beast shall surely be put to death. He that sacrificeth unto any god, save to the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed." (Exodus 22:18-20)
These verses attest to the power of belief as they led to the slaughter of thousands of defenseless people throughout Europe and the rest of the world.
Understand that these verses not only authorize the executions but they explicitly command them.
Verse 18 justified the burning of women in Europe judged as witches. In early America, the Salem witch trials resulted in the deaths of women and men.
Verse 19 refers to bestiality, a sin considered worthy of death. Christians used verse 20 to justify religious wars, Crusades and the slaughter of unbelievers throughout Europe. And the condemnation of heretics still goes on.
