It will take time and patience, but you can come off of these medications. Reduce the amount you take every three days. Do not stop everything at one time. This will make it easier on your body.
To help with the withdrawls take hot bathes with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts and soak for 30 minutes. The skin is the biggest organ of elimination and this will help pull out the drugs.
Drink lots of water and 2c. a day of fresh carrot juice, to flush the medicine out of your liver. You can take 500mg of calcium and magnesium twice a day to help you relax. Drink chamomile tea throughout the day And evening to help you stay relaxed.
use a powdered fiber supplement twice daily to pull the drugs out of your intestines where they can store.
If you have any further questions please let me know,

You have 2 choices. Methadone which is an excellent way to get off the medicine because it will take away ALL the withdrawl symptoms and cravings. It is also a pain reliever. It's $11 or $12 dollars a day and some take insurance and medicaide. Many pain management doc's are using it now. But you would have to go to a methadone clinic, you should be able to find one in your area by looking up drug treatment in your phone book (It probably wont say "methadone clinic" for example mine was called Orlando Treatment Center. At least call them and talk to them and get some information. I have a book with ALL the clinics in the US so if you cant find one, email me. The second option is to ween yourself off. I wouldn't recommend it because it usually doesn't work. Methadone worked wonders for me. The first day I got on it I didn't have to take any more opiates. Good Luck, you can do it. kristykellymail@yahoo.com

You don't say how long you have been 'hooked', but generally, if you do not want to take them, don't.
Call your local hospital and ask if these drugs are safe to stop suddenly without medical supervision at the doses you currently use.
See your doctor and tell him what you are about to do, and get his advice about side effects of quitting.
It is easier to kick addictions if you plan not to go out, to have none of the substance that is your problem on hand, and if you sleep a great deal for a few days. Be sure you have juice, good easy food and stuff that distracts you (books, movies, video games, whatever). These things help you miss out on the greatest amount of actual physical discomfort possible: You are asleep, not paying attention, and not forced to pretend you are fine in front of people.
Stats show that narc-a-non is no more effective than just quitting, and in fact tends to increase severity of relapse. I think this is because of the whole bit where they tell you you are helpless over your drug use/abuse.
You are in charge. If you want to be a user, you will be... If you don't want to be a user, you will quit. Ultimately, people do exactly what they want to do, except maybe in prison camps.

Hey! Well i am on Lortab and Soma but i have acute chronic pain.....in the last 5 mONTHS i have had knee surgery, a total hip replacement in Jan. and a divorce in March...before that i had to major back surgeries which is WHY i've had all this other trouble?? My lumber is fused. I take my meds as ordered but i am also on the Fentynal patch 100mcg (micrograms) not milligrams as this drug should do t he work, it's like 100 X stronger than morphine..............i take the other for breakthru pain. I'm sorry....i just realized the question? TO GET OFF, the way i use to do it was to stairstep down, like take 4/5 for a week, then lower to 4, then to 3 and so on...........it worked for me but u have to have great discipline!!!! I think Soma's would be harder for me to get off than the Lortab??

My brother in-law just decided to quit taking them one day...he was chewing 4 10's at a time and washing it down with a 6 pack of beer..he didn't take the Soma's...maybe you could find a NA (narcotics anonymous) group in your area, that would give a great support system and meetings to go to when you feel the need to use...At least you admit you have a problem and that is the first step to recovery...Best of Luck...Rehabs always an option as well.

it'd take time and patient.
First you should reduce a half daily dose every 3-7 days. if any thing happens then you get a right way. Try to drink much water as you can during the period
