Concept of Allah The God
1. Allah (SWT) 'God' is only 'One', has no partner or son, and neither gives birth, nor is He born. He is eternally besought by all and has no beginning or end, and none is equal to Him (Holy Quran example)
2. He is the Merciful and the Compassionate, the Guardian and the True Guide, the Just and the Supreme Lord, the Creator and the Watchful, the First and the Last, the Knowing and the Wise, the Hearing, and the Aware, the Witness and the Glorious, the Able and ' the Powerful. (Holy Quran example).
3. He is the Loving and the Provider, the Generous and the Benevolent, the Rich and the Independent, the Forgiving and the Clement, the Patient and the Appreciative, the Unique and the Protector, the Judge and the Peace. (Holy Quran example). The question of Allah's (SWT) 'God' existence has preoccupied men's minds for many centuries. Those who believe in Allah (SWT) 'God' seem to agree that the limited finite human intelligence cannot prove the existence of the infinite boundless of Allah (SWT) 'God'. It can only illustrate or demonstrate his existence to the satisfaction of the curious human mind.
Those who deny Allah's (SWT) 'God' claim to rely on science, philosophy, or special theories of knowledge. Their arguments are sometimes inapplicable, sometimes irrelevant, always complex, and often incomprehensible. However, the developed mind will find its way to Allah (SWT) 'God'. Failure to find the way does not mean that there is no way. Denial of reality does not make it unreal.

Who is Muhammad pbuh
In the desert of Arabia was the Prophet Muhammad (SAAWS) born, according to Muslim historians, on April 20, 571 . The name means "highly praised". He is to me the greatest mind among all the sons of Arabia. He means so much more than all the poets and kings that preceded him in that impenetrable desert of red sand. When he appeared Arabia was a desert -- a nothing. Out of nothing a new world was fashioned by the mighty spirit of the Prophet Muhammad (SAAWS) -- a new life, a new culture, a new civilization, a new kingdom which extended from Morocco to Indies and influenced the thought and life of three continents -- Asia, Africa and Europe.
And more wonderful still is what the reverend Bosworth Smith remarks:
" Head of the state as well as the Church, he was Caesar and Pope in one; but, he was pope without the pope's claims, and Caesar without the legions of Caesar, without a standing army, without a bodyguard, without a palace, without a fixed revenue. If ever any man had the right to say that he ruled by a right divine It was Muhammad, for he had all the power without instruments and without its support. He cared not for dressing of power. The simplicity of his private life was in keeping with his public life."

What is Islam
The word "Islam" is an Arabic word which means "submission to the will of God "Allah - SWT". This word comes from the same root as the Arabic word "salam", which means "peace". As such, the religion of Islam teaches that in order to achieve true peace of mind and surety of heart, one must submit to Allah (SWT) and live according to His Divinely revealed Law. The most important truth that Allah (SWT) revealed to mankind is that there is nothing divine or worthy of being worshipped except for Almighty Allah (SWT), thus all human beings should submit to Him. The word "Muslim" means one who submits to the will of Allah (SWT), regardless of their race, nationality or ethnic background.
Being a Muslim entails willful submission and active obedience to Allah (SWT), and living in accordance with His message. Some people mistakenly believe that Islam is just a religion for Arabs, but nothing could be further from the truth. Not only are there converts to Islam in every corner of the world, especially in England and America, but by taking a look at the Muslim World from Bosnia to Nigeria, and from Indonesia to Morocco, one can clearly see that Muslims come from many various races, ethnic groups and nationalities. It is also interesting to note that in actuality, more than 80% of all Muslims are not Arabs - there are more Muslims in Indonesia than in the whole Arab World! So though even though it is true that most Arabs are Muslims, the large majority of Muslims are not Arabs. However, anyone who submits completely to Allah (SWT) and worships Him alone is a Muslim.

What is Qur’an
The Arabic world "Al-Qur'an" literally means "the recitation". When used in regards to Islam, the word Qur'an means God's final message to mankind that was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. The Qu'ran, sometimes spelled Koran, is the literal the word of God - as it clearly says time and time again. Unlike other sacred scriptures, the Qur'an has been perfectly preserved in both its words and meaning in a living language.

The Qu'ran is a living miracle in the Arabic language; and is known to be inimitable in its style, form and spiritual impact. God's final revelation to mankind, the Qur'an, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad over a period of 23 years.
" When the Qur'an is read, listen to it with attention, and hold your peace: that ye may receive Mercy. " Qur'an 7:204
'The revelation of THIS BOOK is from Allah, the Exalted in Power, full of Wisdon.' Qur'an 39:1
'And before this, was the Book of Moses as a guide and a mercy: And THIS BOOK confirms (it) in the Arabic tongue; to admonish the unjust, and as Glad Tidings to those who do right.' Qur'an 46:12
'Ramadhan is the (month) in which was sent down the Qur'an, as a guide to mankind, also clear (Signs) for guidance and judgment (Between right and wrong). So every one of you who is present (at his home) during that month should spend it in fasting, but if any one is ill, or on a journey, the prescribed period (Should be made up) by days later. Allah intends every facility for you; He does not want to put to difficulties. (He wants you) to complete the prescribed period, and to glorify Him in that He has guided you; and perchance ye shall be grateful.' Qur'an 2:185

Basic belief is the 5 pillars...

1. Creed (kaliima) or the shahada---there is no God but Allah and Muhammed is the prophet of Allah

2. prayer (salat) 5x a day

3. Giving to poor (zakat)

4. Fast (ramadan)

5. The pilgramage (hajj)

According to sura 4:157, Jesus did NOT die on the cross but "only appeared to die" and was taken by Allah. So if the cross is not true, the Muslim does not have to explain the ressurection.

The holy book: the Qu'ran which is made up of 114 surahs(chapters) starting with the longest 1st and the shortest last.

Although some, sections belive in the Hadith (traditions) , im not sure if Sunnah is a book.

Salam :) i'm a Muslim teen living in Canada. I positioned on hijab alhamdullilah and this is for the main section time-honored here in view that i stay in a great city with a good sized Muslim inhabitants. I do get the few ignorant comments and idiots in college in spite of the incontrovertible fact that who ask stuff like "yo have been given a bomb under there hahaha". however the toughest section is being distinctive out of your persons. Being a Muslim, events, alcohol courting boys donning revealing outfits etc is haram, and on an identical time as i do no longer % to try this besides, this is a sprint awkward to ought to describe why i do no longer do it to those who evaluate it in straight forward terms an element of being a teenager and its trouble-free to them. Muslims living in Muslim international places unquestionably have it easier whilst it is composed of setting up in. And with nutrients this is a sprint problematic yet I continually attempt to study the label if i'm uncertain of the factors. yet i would not wanna be the different faith no count how puzzling it gets and how distinctive i think from all and sundry else, i'm happy to be Muslim :)

Worship only God. Jesus is the pure prophet and the second man, after Adam, created by divine intervention. He is the only man to have remained pure and true to the teachings of the Torah throughout his life. Jesus was taken up by God to await his return to rule and teach humanity to live by Gods true way in the Golden Age. The Qu'ran is the last of the three holy texts along with the Torah and the Gospel of Jesus.

Here is a good site that compares Islam and Christianity.

That there is no God but God and Mohammad is His Prophet, basically.

I see that World Traveler and Pinky have said the rest.

Peace.

I'm not a Muslim, but a Catholic Christian who knows about Islam.

I was wondering if the wise Muslims like Koko below who say that Islam specifically says that Isa, al Massihe, aka Jesus, the Messiah; is not the Son of God, where does it say this in al Qua'ran? And, also, if they are right, how come it is accepted that Maryum, aka St.Mary is recognized as the Virgin? Why is it Isa bin Maryum and not Isa bin Yusuf? If we are all the children of Allah, how come Isa, al Massihe is not? According to al Qua'ran, who sits at Allahs right in al Jannat? According to al Qua'ran, who shall return to defeat al Dajjal and redeem the chaste?

And, finally, when you say "God gave Mary a son as a gift"; what are you saying?

Muslims belive that Jesus was not the son of god, but one of the prophets. He was Mary's son, and did talk. The major difference is that Christians belive that Jesus is the son of god.... God gave Mary a child as a gift. It was a miracle.
