Sin is “any want of conformity unto or transgression of the law of God” (1Jo_3:4; Rom_4:15), in the inward state and habit of the soul, as well as in the outward conduct of the life, whether by omission or commission (Rom_6:12-17; Rom_7:5-24). Sin is not a mere violation of the law of our constitution, nor of the system of things, but an offense against a personal lawgiver and moral governor who vindicates his law with penalties.

God forgives all sins except the one sin that denies Him. This sin ascribes to God what Satan has done, in that a person blasphemes the Spirit God that has been sent to call a person to righteousness. By saying with full knowledge "I do not believe", a person has in effect participated in the very first lie told in Eden.

When you do something wrong in the eyes of god. To bad there are so many religions and beliefs no one knows what is a true sin. Seems each religion has different rules as to what makes up a sin. Read the 10 commandments, break the laws you then committed a sin. Whether they are the word of god or not they are the best rules for us to follow. Follow them and you cant go wrong.

Sin is described in the Bible as transgression of the law of God (1 John 3:4) and rebellion against God (Deuteronomy 9:7; Joshua 1:18).
Personal sin is that which is committed every day by every human being. Because we have inherited a sin nature from Adam, we commit individual, personal sins – everything from seemingly innocent fibs to murder.

Sin simply put is disobedience to God's moral law. If man would just obey the moral law of God in which Jesus put in two simple to understand verses "Love the Lord God with all your heart, soul, spirit, mind" and the second one was like unto the first, " Love thy neighbor as thyself". If man loved according to God's Moral law what's happening in the world today would not be going on. The killings, the sexual immorality, the hatred, divisions, covetousness, greed, etc.
