I was once in your shoes. I live in a small town. I worked nights in Columbus. One day I met this guy. I went up to him and asked him his name. Well he was busy and I was heading home. 3 months later I met him again at the same place. We exchanged phone numbers and we started dating. I was the one who innitiated us going out together. Within 6 months we decided to move in together. We lived together for 2 years. Then he asked me to marry him. We have been married for 3 years now. I will never regret making the first move. I would say be open with him and be yourself. Don't be shy, eventually you may be happy just because you took the innitiative and asked him out.

I'm not sure how well you know him, or what his personality is like, but here's what I think....
Get to know something about him by making small talk, or starting a conversation. While learning about him, you will undoubtedly hear him mention something he likes that you like too!
Center a date around what each of you have in common.
Next time you talk with him you can ask if he would like to go out some time and go "_____"ing. The blank should be something that you each learned that you had in common.. Like reading, and looking at books? Ask him to Barnes & Nobles. Like bowling? Let's go to the bowling alley. Video games? Hey you want to go to the arcade with me on Friday?
Don't make too much out of it, you're not planning a wedding. You just want to learn what you may have in common with this person, and then get together and go share your common interests with each other. In turn you will get to know each other better, and may just become real friends in the process.
I hope this helps!!

You, me, movies, sex. You interested? We can always just skip the movie. Just kidding.
You didn't give us enough details. We don't know anything about him or what his personality is. We don't know how close you are to him yet. We don't even know if you are talking to him yet.
Either way show interest don't wait around for the guy to get interested. You need to make him interested.

Chat him up a little, make sure he's in a good mood, and then go, "Hey, wanna do something or another Friday? I'm free then, so we could do... *Insert here*"
