I check the FDA site daily and have seen no reports of the recalled foods being safe. I have always fed my dog-part chow/ part golden, pedigree. Every other day we give him a pedigree pouch mixed in. Anyway, tonight I went to the local Weis store and all of their total pet stuff is still on the shelves! I asked and the manager says that if it wasn't safe it wouldn't be on the shelf. I have been making my own dog food and treats lately and this just got me to thinking. Has there been a statement that any of the recalled foods are now safe? And --though I seriously doubt it, could they be believed???

all grain products even soy are suspect now
I suggest an all meat diet
even may I suggest
RAW feeding?
Truly at the least I'd say human grade food only

and I'm telling you I REALLY really hope more people start purchasing USA products
and for both our and our pets safety
organic and local would be best

just my opinion
yep Food Grade Pigs now farms that FEED these products the animals are contaminated and yep
hams
bacon, etc
oi vay cannot believe even soy may be suspect

can you imagine all the people on supplemented soy diet drinks? their health is already compromised.

organic's for me and hoping at least there will be mandatory labeling if any product's ingredients are foreign origin soon.

Some stores are not pulling there food because they have not been told to pull it. I heard on the news that a store in california had Alpo on the shelf and they told her to tell Purina to pull it. Purina told the people at the store that since it was in their store they would have to pull it. The people at the store pulled it and they were mad at the fact that they were not told but they were told to pull it from last week. Why they are not doing it is because of money. If you go to the store and you see food on the shelfs then you can go tell the manager to pull it and they are suppose to. I also found out that the FDA has decided to have a criminal probe on the person or persons that did this and they are now thinking it was toward humans and that now that the pigs are contaminated with the melamine. The FDA also found out that some of the pigs were slaughtered and people have bought the meat and now they are going to look for the people that bought it. I read it in some of the articles that pet connection has on their site. The articles are in their blog and in different colors . It was also on howl 911.com

It is sad but true that many of the recalled pet foods are still on store shelves. The commercial pet food business is a very cold and greedy business. They don't care about our pets. It's all about the almighty buck.

I hope this helps: For all of the latest news on the recalls, one of the best sites to see a good amount of information is at http://www.mypethaven.com

No but the news and the FDA have announced that stores are still stocking the foods, so avoid them... I have seen a few stores that carry the foods, and the ones that are specifically marked for recall.. Store says ' no one called to say to remove the stuff, so we leave it '

All in the name of profit!

No there has not. In fact, additional ingredients have been found to be tainted which has caused more recalls, such as the brand Beniful. Your dog doesn't really need canned food. IF you do want him to have them, I highly recommend boiled chicken or beef with rice and home made gravy.

The foods recalled were identified by lot numbers expiration dates ect. Most of these foods are long since removed, and there are new safe foods that replaced them. If your worried get the recalled foods numbers and compare with whats on the shelf.
