I'm a westerner and while I'd like to brag that I know the difference let me just ask you: when I go to the diner tomorrow morning, will my knowledge of the difference make any difference in what I order to eat? Will it affect how I plan my day? I've already given your answer more thought and typing than you gave your question so...cheers.

There are several differences between Hindus and Muslims...how'd you get the idea that west can't see the difference? I think that it's pretty straightforward.

Where in the west is this a problem?
This is the first I have heard that anyone thought that Musims and Hindus were the same.

I see the difference. It's enormous.

For starters, one is a Dharmic religion and the other is an Abrahamic religion. That's a huge difference.

Fundamentally different, f'sho.

I think the only possible explanations are ignorance or racism on the part of people who don't differentiate. Or both. There's always both.

Because it is difficult to learn and really understand both religions and invariably the cultures that practice them. Most westerners don't care enough about other religions to learn about them, I must admit I don't know a lot about Middle Eastern and Asian religions, but I'm not stupid enough to say there's no difference.

There is a big difference between Hindus and Muslims. Who is confused? Hindus are kind, gentle, loving people who bother no one. Muslims want to rule the world and impose their barbaric laws and kill anyone that stands in their way. I think we understand the difference!
