Anyone have it and if so, when and how happy are you with the results?

As an optometrist, I have numerous patients who have had LASIK surgery. Most have had good results; a few (less than 5%) have had VERY BAD results-it's either good or bad with few results in between. There are numerous factors-and cost should not be an issue. Please do not pick the surgeon based on price-you get what you pay for. Besides all of the issues of how good of a candidate someone is, there is also the risk vs return consideration. If you wear contacts with success, how much do you have to gain? Also, after about 40 years old, reading glasses will be necessary for nearly everyone. There are also newer refractive surgeries to consider-especially if you are older-such as clear lens replacement (essentially cataract surgery before you get a cataract) with a bifocal implant (which now has many "brands" available).

Lord No! That's the dumbest factor I've ever heard of. What's the problem with glasses? We had a man from our state within the House of Representatives who obtained that damned surgical procedure and it blinded him ultimately and he needed to give up politics. There's no promises in that surgical procedure.
