The bible exists but not much in it is true, if anything. Jesus might have existed at some time, but he was not the son of a god.

Real as in it exists?

Well, the book certainly is real book. Its probably one of the best sellers.

But if youre asking if it has truth, thats another question all together. Certainly some parts of it might be accurate historically (dont know where, but lets just play like it does)

but certainly there are parts that serve a lot of problems. Such as the 6-day creation of the earth for one thing. Mmm... noahs ark, the ten plagues etc etc. Many of these things said in the Bible are just so plain silly---at least scientifically inconsistent to the laws of science--so speaking that many read Christians will play it off and take some of it as some sort of symbolism.

Is Jesus real? Now thats a question. Depends on which Jesus youre talking about I guess. lol. Depends on your version of the Bible youre reading if you catch my driff ;-)

--Lets see what history says of Christ:

*** gt The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived ***

The historian H. G. Wells said that a man’s greatness can be measured by ‘what he leaves to grow, and whether he started others to think along fresh lines with a vigor that persisted after him.’ Wells, although not claiming to be a Christian, acknowledged: “By this test Jesus stands first.”

Alexander the Great, Charlemagne (styled “the Great” even in his own lifetime), and Napoleon Bonaparte were powerful rulers. By their formidable presence, they wielded great influence over those they commanded. Yet, Napoleon is reported to have said: “Jesus Christ has influenced and commanded His subjects without His visible bodily presence.”

By his dynamic teachings and by the way he lived in harmony with them, Jesus has powerfully affected the lives of people for nearly two thousand years. As one writer aptly expressed it: “All the armies that ever marched, and all the navies that ever were built, and all the parliaments that ever sat, all the kings that ever reigned, put together have not affected the life of man upon this earth as powerfully.”

A Historical Person

Yet, strangely, some say that Jesus never lived—that he is, in effect, a creation of some first-century men. Answering such skeptics, the respected historian Will Durant argued: “That a few simple men should in one generation have invented so powerful and appealing a personality, so lofty an ethic and so inspiring a vision of human brotherhood, would be a miracle far more incredible than any recorded in the Gospels.”

AS FOR THE BIBLE:

*** km 1/97 p. 1 par. 4 We “Preach the Word”

The English author Charles Dickens wrote concerning the Bible: “It is the best book that ever was or will be in the world, because it teaches you the best lessons by which any human creature who tries to be truthful and faithful can possibly be guided.”

Patrick Henry, the American revolutionary leader famous for the words “Give me liberty, or give me death,” also declared: “The Bible is worth all other books which have ever been printed.” Even the great Hindu sage Mohandas K. Gandhi once told the British viceroy of India: “When your country and mine shall get together on the teachings laid down by Christ in this Sermon on the Mount, we shall have solved the problems, not only of our countries but those of the whole world.”

“THE Bible is a crystallization of mankind’s civilization and life experiences and is unique,” says a journal published by Chung Shang University in Guangzhou, China. Immanuel Kant, an influential 18th-century philosopher, is quoted as saying: “The existence of the Bible, as a book for the people, is the greatest benefit which the human race has ever experienced. Every attempt to belittle it . . . is a crime against humanity.” The Encyclopedia Americana says: “The influence of the Bible is by no means limited to Jews and Christians. . . . It is now viewed as an ethical and religious treasure whose inexhaustible teaching promises to be even more valuable as the hope of a world civilization increases.”

Jesus was a real historical figure based on writings by historians of His time. A man named Jesus really did die on a cross almost 2000 years ago. Josephus (a secular historian) even says that Jesus rose from the dead. There is more evidence for Jesus living then for Shakespeare or George Washington living. There is no doubt that Jesus really lived on earth. Whether you choose to believe everything the Bible says about Him is true is up to you. That is the decision you were born to make and I encourage you to read the Bible and ask God to make Himself real to you. If you really want to know about God that is the only way to find out. It has to be personal, between you and Him alone. I believe He is more real than anything else in this life. Make a decision to know Him and it will change your life.

Jesus is real but the bible has a lot of holes in it and it's truth. It wasn't meant to be taken verbatum but as a learning tool and as such is not infallible. It was written by men, humans, and has many faults to it and untruths. Even the so-called quotes from Jesus and God ar not to be believed as the churches were brought about to guide a people who were very gullible at the time. Think about it.

I think Jesus did exist. I don't know if his life was like what was written in the bible. I also think the bible is mostly made up if not exaggerated.

They're both real. I have a Bible right here with me. Unless I'm having a very vivid dream, this Bible is real. And this Bible has a letter written by a guy named Paul who claims that he personally knew James, the brother of Jesus. I don't see any reason for him to have invented Jesus if there wasn't one already. And I especially think it a riculous notion to think anybody would INVENT the idea of a Christ who was crucified by the Romans. The crazy thing, it seems to me, would be that they would CONTINUE to believe he was the Christ AFTER he was crucified. So I'm convinced Jesus was real. There's just no reason to have invented him, and especially no reason to have invented his crucifixion if it didn't really happen.

If life is real--if death is real---if days, night is real--so also jesus and The Bible. Please dont disregard them nor any religion and their God and Goddess. It will give you intolerance towards life.Because God is ONE.Just we the people follow through different paths-----so love God and to love ,you have to respect the existence of the Supreme power.---not to make fun of HIM/HER.Just think --suppose I am a hindu and if I will go to the Church----God will not be happy? Or He will not bless me?Like this if we pray each God then we will get the same blessings as people of other religions do .Just dont fight among each other for the name of religion and castes--or any other names.World is one and God is one.Love everyone and thus will get love inturn.Believe me.
