up to $300 im on a tight budget since i just bought my KEF mains. i will be using this sub strictly for music so i want a musical sub with thight bass. here's the sub im considering as of right now.

You won't go wrong with either the HSU or Velodyne!

I had HSU sub 15 years ago - it was pretty good. Velodyne makes one of the best high-end subs (dd-18), but I did not hear the one you are looking at. Don't know much about the others.

I would recommend HSU.

I would recommend the one that you like as you are the only one it matters to .I don't know what a "musical "sub is because you are only going to hear low vibration sounds unless the sub's turnover frequency is 80HZ or higher.As you know i am not fond of subs in a hi fidelity sound reproduction system. It takes away some of the clarity of your stereo speakers.
I would save the money towards a better amp. which will force the KEF's to deliver.
I know you won't give me the 10 points buts that cool .
