I have a budgie, and he absolutly loves to play with the toys i buy him.
Onl problem is, sometimes he eats them.
Im not sure if they just break down from when he play with them, or if hes acually chewing them apart to eat.
Should i be worried?
Ive checked to make sure his poop is normal, becuase that is apparently the first ting to look at. It seemed normal( as far as i can tell, im no poop expert tho)
Im still worried tho.
What should i do about it? Are there some toys better than others?

Wood, straw and paper toys are meant to be chewed.

Metal and plastic . . . that is a different story.

I have never known a bird to swallow anything but seeds.

He chews wood because that is one of their basic instincts, and it keeps his bill trim.

You can give him popsicle sticks to chew, or a toilet paper roll, they don't have to be store-bought toys.

There are certain toys. There are toys that are meant to be chewed on though. Chewing toys are soft wood and there are some others too. If it's eating metal or anything else like that id say it would have to have a pretty strong beak.

My budgie loves everything but there is a fine line between spoiled bird and happy bird. A spoiled bird is a bird with 5 or more toys. A happy bird has 3 or four toys. My bird absolutely LOVES mirrors and bells. The mirror got my bird to talk (he thought there was another bird to talk to!)

if the toy was sold as a budgie toy it should be OK;, but they really aren't made to be eaten. Most budgie's favorite toy is a mirror, so I hope your bird has one. They love to fall in love with their image! Also bells, and a ladder, they can't eat those, I hope!
