this is very simple if you only study it very carefully because actually its been discussed already by a certain philosopher.
the answer chicken of course.say for instance here we have the chicken and then the egg..
chicken <------------> egg
actuality <------------> potentiality
here, its obvious that chickens come first cause they are the actual thing, the reality. while eggs only have the "potential" so you will never even know if the egg lives and becomes a chicken in the end..
another thing is only the chickens can lay their eggs and then they sit on the eggs so the eggs will break and turn into chickens..
so if you think that eggs come first. its definitely wrong cause they cannot even break themselves and live.
remember eggs only have the potential while chickens are the actual.. eggs need the chickens to sit on them so they will break and live. this only proves that eggs DO NOT come first.

Nobody know... that's the point. Some say the chicken because it has to lay the eggs, but then others say the egg because the original chicken had to come from somewhere.... you decide.

The egg because dinosaurs came before chickens ;) But from an evolutionary point of view, the chicken because the chicken had to finish evolving before an actual chicken egg could be laid. So whichever theory you prefer.

from a biblical standpoint, it was the chicken. however, from a more scientific view, the egg would have come first, since a one-celled organism would have evolved slowly until the birth of the first actual chicken.
