I ask because I'm guessing that like most of us, you don't actively investigate and dismiss each and every scientific theory that comes along on its own merits, but only the ones that threaten your religious beliefs.

In other words, do you research other theories (Einstein's relativity, Newtonian physics, modern string theory) or do you accept/ignore them because they "feel" right, or because there is no public debate against them?

I submit that most of you don't disagree with evolution or the big bang because you find the science unsound, but because you find the implications unsettling. But hey, maybe I'm wrong and you actually do investigate each and every scientific theory to ensure it too doesn't contain flawed/faulty science?

"Christians how do you discern between palatable and unpalatable scientific theories?"

"Palatable" scientific theories are the ones that adhere to the scientific method of investigation. The scientific method is a body of techniques for investigating phenomena and acquiring new knowledge, as well as for correcting and integrating previous knowledge. It is based on gathering observable, empirical, measurable evidence, subject to specific principles of reasoning.

Theories like the theory of evolution and the big bang are not subject to that method because they involve a lot of guesswork about what might have happened long ago. People can construct plausible sounding arguments and string together isolated facts to support those theories but the string that holds them together is guesswork and not observation of actual events.

you are right, but for the wrong reason. I do not investigate or dismiss each and every scientific theory, but not because it threatens my beliefs.
science it self does that.
the debate between creationist, and evolutionist, does not interest me, even though I do answer some questions, just for the fun of it. i do not necessarily believe either one.
I don't find it important.
i know who I am, and where I came from, and do not have the time to worry about where and how everything begin.
i have read many different theories on here, about both arguments, and both sides seem to disagree with them selves.

life is to short to spend it arguing about the little things.

well, some Christians don't believe in Einstein's theory of relativity -- I can't remember why. Maybe it had to do with the fact that Einstein sat in a room and dreamed it up instead of going out and experimenting like a -- oh I don't know. Like the author I'm referring to thinks scientists should do.

The Church fully accepts that the earth is not the center of the universe now, and I suspect that over the years evolution will stop being such a hot button.

As an open minded actuality seeker i could decide to remind you that evolution remains a concept. info might desire to have extra tangible evidence then evolution has. Do your analyze and additionally you will see that few scientist call it a actuality. via accepting a concept as actuality it incredibly isn't any distinctive then the bounce of religion somebody religious accepts. merely because of the fact there is not any evidence evolution is incorrect would not make it a actuality. We on no account observed an entire evolution of any species. we've considered survival of the fittest interior of genes that existed yet on no account any new genes. in case you have permit me understand. As a spiritual individual; scientific theories have been proved incorrect on many activities while new counsel surfaced. One occasion, evolutionist concept that count continuously existed and merely stored changing kinds. the great bang concept says all count got here from capacity. Who replaced into astonishing? Religions like my very own reported G-d created all count from no longer something, we've been lots nearer then the unique concept of evolution. Who says new counsel won't floor to disprove extra information of evolution? Sciences has substitute right into a faith of it extremely is very own. human beings have faith that technological know-how is acquainted with what it would not. Are you a follower, or an open minded actuality seeker? examine what the latest scientist say in the previous you think of you recognize.

I don't have time to investigate all the Science that comes out, but the ones that I do, support Creationism, just as the Bible has stated. I have investigated evolution and have discovered that there is absolutely no facts to support it. If you want to investigate the truth, go to www.drdino.com or www.creationevidence.org

The Bible tells us how little we know. If since God has no concept of time then if he chose evolution as the means to his end then that is how it is. I happen to believe in the Bible literally, but accepting the "big bang theory" does nothing to disprove God, a creator still had to create the tiny particle that went bang. I don't know, but God does

I do read up on new theories if they are interesting. I enjoy science. The latest news is the sun plays music. I think that is great. It is on the same principle as a guitar (wavelengths).
I think, when we all meet God and he actually explains things, there will be alot of people so very surprised. God is the ultimate scientist.

I do not agree with evolution because there is so much scientific evidence against it. In order to be true, it would have to break many rules, like the three laws of thermodynamics to name one. There is also too many gaps in the fossil records to justify evolution.
I have read up on this subject as I find it interesting. If you want to learn more about something, do not take somebody else's word for it, but look it up yourself.

actually my church (the catholic church) has said that it accepts the scientific theory of evolution, not the assumptions that have evolved from it. evolution is a fine theory as it shows that there was a origionally a driving force behind everything, which was god, and god bestowed souls on humans, thus making them human.
