When my dog won't eat I make him lean ground turkey and rice, he always eats it, try it...my uncle's a vet so he told me to do that.

good luck

Don't be ridiculous.. Yeah some cheap crappy foods have alot of unknown crap in them, but a good quality natural well balanced food is what you need..
You just got the dog, she is probably shocked and wondering what the heck just happened.. She'll eat, when you provide her with a good healthy diet..
You just got the dog, obviously you don't know anything about feeding a dog a home made diet.. It's very hard to make it well balanced and make sure that they get everything they need. Do the right thing and buy a good food.. NOT Pedigree, or Ol Roy, or Beneful, no Kibbles N Bits, NONE of the Purina, no Iams, no Eukanuba, no Science Diet, and nothing from the recalled list, nothing including wheat gluten, corn gluten, and rice protein...

It always takes time to adjust to new homes when you are only 10 weeks old. And i am hoping that the puppy you have is not 6 or 7 weeks. It is true Pet Food recalls may seem like the end of the world, but the truth is there are a lot of foods out there that are just fine.

I would recommend giving him sometime to adjust and giving him some good toys to play with. In the mean time look up foods like Flint River Ranch, Innove Evo, and California Natural. These are premium dog foods and cost a pretty penny.

Good Luck with your puppy!

Where in the world did you hear something like that? I highly doubt there's any sort of truth to that. I'd like to see your source.

Dog food is the best option since regular human food can make them sick. I know, with the recall going on, it's scarey to buy any type of dog food for your pet, but as long as you read the labels and don't buy the cheap food, you should be good. I just switched my dog to "The Goodlife Recipe" and she just loves it! It's made from fresh vegetables (peas, carrots, tomatoes) as well as beef or chicken. It's all listed on the ingredients list. And I have a picky dog too.

If you insist on making food for your dog, I'm sure you could find some recipes online somewhere if you searched for them.

He's probably just adjusting to his new home. Give him a day or so. If you are really worried try calling the vet and see what he/she says. Do not feed your dog table scraps or people food. It can cause stomach distress and if done for very long can lead to pancreatitis which can be very painful or even deadly for some if it's severe enough. If you were going to feed him "people food" try some boiled chicken, rice, carrots and see if that works.

Read the labels on dog food. You will notice that many are corn, chicken, beef, etc...

chicken and rice is supposed to be a good meal. Your dog won't eat fresh food? My dog will eat anything! There are other brands that are more selective about thier ingredients outside of the major brands. My dog is on Eagle, before that he was on Nature's Choice, but he really didn't like that one. There is organic dog food if you are willing to spend a little extra. After the food scare I went to my local pet store and talked to the owner about different foods. She is so gung-ho for animals its actually a little over the top. She has seminars and pet picture events and alll sorts of stuff and is a fellow dof owner, so I trust that she is being honest.

Give your new doggie sometime. He maybe be feeling sad since there is a major change in the dogs life. One of the dogs I have had now for 6 years was like that at first. A little bit of hamburger and chicken mixed in with the rest sometimes helps. Good luck

dog food is MADE for Dogs...if she's not eating, maybe she's upset at the move...dogs DO have feelings. Maybe you need to hold her, tell her it's Ok....she'll eat when she gets hungry...until then, just make sure she has water, a nice bed to sleep in and lots of love...if it keeps bothering you...take her to the vet...but really...most dog food (especially Purina made here in the U.S. is safe for her to eat...make sure she has the food she came with and introduce new food slowly...a little bit at a time, till all shes eating is the new food.)
Don't believe everything you read on the internet...most of the stuff is made up and it's to scare you...

I think he might be scared or nervous since you just brought him home. One of my friend had exact same problem, but now the dog got used to it so she eats a lot. you shouldn't get dog food from net store, you should get dog food with no color on it. just get plain one from pet store. good luck

I have good luck with beef liver. Your new dog has just had a traumatic experience, by leaving his pack and he doesn't know yours. let her get used to you and then you'll have a dog that is not so stressed she can't eat
