I'm 5'5, 130-140 pounds, muscular, very athletic. I think I'm fat. (not attention-seeking... i promise. i hate people like that. i just want to know.)

No. If you are muscular (which weighs more than fat) you are probably on the normal thin side. Just because you don't look like an anorexic celebrity, you are not fat. Wish women would realize that the Hollywood thin ideal is just not attractive to most men. Be proud of your muscles and curves and work on your body image.

well, being a fatty is a very subjective term. It's how you look at yourself. I think the best thing to do would be to go to your local ymca and have a body composition analasys done. They will put an electrode on your toe and one on your finger and get you to lie down. you don't feel a thing but a computer reads your electrical impedence and based on your height and weight calculates how much of you is lean muscle mass, how much is water, and how much is fat. I was very surprised when I got mine done. I am serverly overweight as I weigh 280 but I had in my head that I needed to lose about 130 pounds to be at my target weight but 213lbs of me is actually lean body mass (muscle and bone) and so I don't want to go below that because then I would actually be doing more harm then good. The computer also will tell you your optimal weight so for me it said that my optimal weight was 245 with 15% body fat and that would make me the healthies as I have a large frame. but regardless I want you to know that you are beautifull and you should think about losing fat for health and nothing else. I can't visualise 140 lbs so I can't say if you would be considered by others to be fat but muscle does weigh more than fat does so I'm sure at 5'5 that 140 lbs would be okay.

It sounds like you are at a normal weight to me for someone athletic. Muscle does weigh more then fat. Instead of saying you are fat start saying I look good.

if you are musculer and athletic and if your body is hard to press then you are not fatty, fatty bodies are not athletic.those with heavy belly, soft puffy abdomen, thaies, backs and arms,if you are not like those then you are musculer not fatty, your weight is little bit more than standard but it does't matter if your body is hard enough to feel.

Hardly. If you ARE muscular (& muscles ARE the heaviest tissue)- then your weight sounds about right.
