I'm not sure what you're asking here. If you're asking if ancient Egyptian curses were actually effective - did they actually work, then the modern scientific answer is no.

If you're asking if curses did exist in ancient Egypt, then the answer is yes. They were only rarely (contrary to popular belief) inscribed on tombs. More common were curses against enemies, either of Egypt as a whole or against individuals. An example of sort of "state-level" curses are a category of ancient Egyptian texts called the "Execration Texts." Frequently, these were the names of countries, cities, and/or individuals thought to be a threat to Egypt. The names were inscribed on bowls and the bowls were broken, thus "breaking" the ability of the named countries, etc., to harm Egypt.
Individual level curses frequently operated on the same principal.

If you're interested in this topic in an academic sense, I suggest you look at "The Mechanics of Ancient Egyptian Magical Practice" by Robert Ritner, one of the foremost scholars on ancient Egyptian magic in the world.

Having been the friendly solar diety of the Ancients of Egypt, I can safetly say that those curses were put in place specifically to ward off tomb raiders. They have no more effect than giving a Red Bull to whale.

it really depends on whether or not you believe in the religion
if you believe it is real for you
if you don't believe it is not real for you

most tombs in Egypt are enscribed with curses on anyone that would rob the tombs saying the robber would be assaulted by some demon and eaten
sometime the curses worked other times they didn't

Curses are not real. Anyone who believes in curses wholly, gives these superstitious things power over them. Its kind of like a placebo effect.

Hold on! Egypt will be blessed!

Check out Isaiah 19:19. That hasn't happened yet.

No more real than ghosts, demons, or gods. That is, not at all.
