It's the whole process of learning.

Why do different topics interest different people?
How do we learn? Why are some people visual or auditory or any of the other kinds of learners.
What are other people's thought processes? How do they see and hear information? How do their brains process it?
Why do we remember some things forever and not others?
Why is it that I remember vocabulary and terminology, while my husband and sons remember numbers? I can't remember numbers for anything.

And on and on and on....

An education is very important. It signifies that one has accomplished something and it always looks better in a resume to be able to say "I have a PHD or B.A."
If one doens't have anything , at least they have a degree to show for something that was accomplished.

who would be intrested academically....
not me. academically, u might say that it is like a jigsaw puzzle or a rubix cube, and when u solved the problem given, it all makes sense in the end. knowing wat is happening around us today thorugh learning the academic part would be intresting and kinda make sense in a way but its a double edged sword.
i guess that would be wat intigues me kinda
