Paul says that without the resurrection, the Christian faith is in vain (1 Cor 15:14). How could the biblical accounts possibly disagree on such an important narrative?

It may be the fact that the accounts are so different that it appeals to so many different types of people. It doesn’t need to be true, as long as people get meaning out of it.

There is no discrepancies, they have been reconciled. The problem is, people of other faiths (i.e., Muslims, Mormons, JW's, etc) don't like the results, and so they deny them. If someone is told all their life that 2+2=5, they will have a hard time accepting that it actually equals 4. This is the problem with many other religious views when looking at Christianity. They don't like what the facts say, so they claim they don't say anything because it helps them sleep at night. There are some difficulties, and every religion has them. But only Christianity has reasonable answers for them. For example, in Islam if Allah gave us the Gospel (3:3 and 5:46) and it says that none can change what God has given (6:34, 6:115, and 10:64), how did man change the Gospel? Easy... He didn't. Hope this helps and that you find truth. May God and Jesus Christ (God in the flesh) bless you!

Interview six people who all witnessed the same event.
Say, for the sake of the question, a hostage situation, perhaps a bank robbery. I'm doing this off the top of my head, so bear with me.
After it's all over, the six people will remember important details about the gun man....he was short, he was heavy set, he had straight brown hair, brown eyes, he walked with a slight limp, he spoke with a bit of a drawl, he wore a green tee shirt and faded blue jeans, he looked lilke he needed a shave....you get the idea.
Now, ask them about the background. How many women had kids with them? Boys or girls? How many men? Business suits or casual dress? Color of hair, eyes? What did they say, if they spoke at all? What color were the tiles on the floor?
Chances are, you're gonna get a bit of variation here, because their attention was on the guy who was holding them hostage...not on the lady on the other side of the room with her brown curls...uh...shaggy dark hair...oh, she was going a bit gray...she had three kids with her....she had two kids with her....she was holding a baby.....she spoke to the man at her right.....
These are unimportant details, the lady over there with her big purse and her two little girls may have been important to the story, but chances are that the rest of the people at the scene really didn't pay enough attention to her to recall just what color her dress was...or was she wearing a pant suit?

It is important to believe in the resurrection in the Christian faith. Without believing in the resurrection, person isn't even born of God.

Biblical accounts don't disagree about the resurrection.

Lets not get to intellectual on this question.
The answer to these accounts will be settled upon the return of Jesus!! And by the way Muhammad said that the only thing that would stop man from destroying himself and the planet, was the return of Jesus to the earth, or the second coming as we know it!

Who's to say that they are actually in disagreement? How many times have any of you told a story that was repeated in correctly? Whenever you get through with it we are still speaking of God the Father an infallible Divinity leaving instructions with a completely fallible human race, through a system of divine revelation. Til this day there's still no one here perfect.

Amen! They disagree about such "minor" things as....

WHO went to the tomb, WHEN they went, WHY they went, were men or angels there, WAS the stone rolled away, HOW many men/angels were there, WHERE they were situated, WHAT they said....

etc.

In a court of law, it would be tossed in a minute.

Actually they have been "reconciled" and seriously, they do not contradict each other.
