To Angel: LDS stands for "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints" and people call us "Mormons" because of the Book of Mormon in addition to the bible. We believe, as all Christians, in Jesus Christ.

TO amore4christ:

Actually I KNOW that it doesn't. It goes along with the Bible. Where are you finding that it contradicts??

TO blondie15:

To be baptized, you just need to show you have a true testimony of the gospel. You can't rush gaining the knowledge, so go to church more than 1 time to know for sure you should be baptized.

TO a_blvr:

The LDS church believes that Christ is the only begotten of the Father and that he died on the cross to suffer for our sins. Because of this great sacrifice, we can repent of our transgressions. Hope that helps :)

TO Jorge T:

Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer because he suffered for our sins that we could repent. The Holy Spirit (The Holy Ghost) is a guide in our lives to lead us through life. It will let us know in our hearts and in our minds if we are doing right or wrong. And lastly, those who aren't members will have the chance after death to accept the Gospel and learn it. They wont automatically be "damned" or anything like that. So hope that helped you!! :)

TO Matt D:

I don't know about the redeemed by his blood but we believe he suffered for our sins so we could repent. And we believe that we are ALL sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father, Christ was his only begotten son sent to be our savior! Hope that answered your question!! :)

TO wisconsheepgirl:

No. To obtain salvation, you must know Jesus Christ is the Savior of us all. To really believe our church is true however, you would have to believe his prophecies, like I do.

TO MistyAnn:

Im sorry you feel that way. Something bad must have happened to you while in the church, but please don't try and hurt those who are interested in the church. I'm not sure how it ruins lives, and im sorry if it ruined yours, but don't ruin anybody elses beliefs please. :)

Yes. What is contained in the Book of Mormon that is:

1. Necessary for salvation, AND
2. Not contained in the Bible?

Cheers :-)

LDS stands for The Church of Jesus Chrsit of Latter Day saints, some people call us Mormons. We believe in a lot
you can go to www.LDS.org to learn more and I am sure the person who asked this question will elaborate.

Jorge= Jesus is the HEAD of our church, he is the foundation of our church. The Holy spirit testifies the truth to us, and also if we are worthy we can have the gift of the holy spirit with us. The Holy Spirit usually through a small almost whisper can help us make right choices among other things. We perform bapstisms for the dead that way anyone who hasn't heard of the gospel will have a chance after they die and they can be baptized through our proxy ordinances.

Chekeir, the Book of Mormon teaches the identical Gospel of Jesus Christ that was in the Bible before omissions and is in it now; primarily, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, repentance of sins, baptism and then receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands by authorized priesthood holders.

Infant baptism, for one example, is explained in detail that is an ordinance contrived by man and not by God. Please remember that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and reveals the histories of two great civilizations that once lived in the Americas.

Just as there were prophets in the Old Testament, so too are prophets among the ancient American civilizations long before Christ came to earth in his mortality and 400 years after His crucifixion and resurrection.

Throughout this set of scripture Jesus Christ is at the forefront and is the main message. The believers, or Christians in ancient America, are those other sheep that Jesus had mentioned in the New Testament.

Thank you for this opportunity! I always wanted to ask this:

Must LDS folks profess that Joseph Smith as a divine prophet must believe in him (Joseph Smith) and his prophecies to obtain salvation?

What is the place that Jesus Christ has in your church?
What can you say about the importance of the Holly Spirit?
Those that are not your members, are they going to be in the Kingdom Of Heaven? Thank you!

Thank you for your willingness to be open and share what you know. That is awesome. I myself am a member and have been all of my life. Which is many years. I would have it no other way, the Church has been a great blessing all of my life. It has provided me the way to receive great joy and happiness. And it also has provided a way for me to receive of the priesthood ordinances that the Savior taught us were necessary to obtain.

Thank you, but no thank you. I know enough about the LDS church to warn and help others not to join it. It's not a Christian religion and it destroys lives.People need to run from it like they would the plague.

It didn't ruin my life. Nothing bad happened to me in the church. I have great friends who are LDS. Unless you have left the church you can't understand what I am trying to say. People need to look past the squeaky clean image of the church and look deeper, the people may be great, but the religion is not.

Do you believe that Jesus was the one and ONLY son of God and that you are ONLY redeemed by his blood?

2007-04-20 22:51:39 · answer #9 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

Yes. Please do.
Exactly who was/is/will be Jesus and why did he die on a cross and where is he now?

I actually do not know the LDS position on this. I only know evangelical propaganda, This question usually will sum it all up real quick.

Thanks
