Honestly, with respect, I just don't believe in your religion as I don't believe in Christianity either.

However, although I do feel fairly well versed on Christianity I do not feel well versed on Islam.

I think knowledge is the biggest key to preventing misunderstandings and learning more about what other people are thinking. I really don't trust the American media for giving me information on Islam. I don't think they are "evil", just lazy.

So I'm going to look at information for myself.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I recommend:
Muhammad: A Biography of the Prophet by Karen Armstrong
The Everything Understanding Islam Book by Christine Huda Dodge
The Everything Koran Book by Duaa Anwar
Islam: A Short History (Modern Library Chronicles) by Karen Armstrong
Covering Islam: How the Media and the Experts Determine How We See the Rest of the World by Edward W. Said

I chose these books because they are as unbiased as they come, in my opinion.
Some of these books will give you references as to where to research from there.

I am not a member of any faith, but I found the book, The Inner Life by Hazrat Inayat Kahn very interesting. He is a Sufi Muslim. That is a sect of the Sunni Muslims.

It is sure to be interesting to you.

Well the idea is either you study the leaves and then study the root or get to the root right away.

Study Vedic Scriptures, if you want to study mother of all philosophy and so called religion. It'll answers the questions you have and those you'd never have.
