Well, Earth Day is April 22nd. It could be that your local recycling organizations are gearing up and getting everyone into the swing of things...or starting early to prevent a big jam at the recycling facilities on the 22nd.

Earth Day will be on Sunday. They're just getting warmed up for that. Recycling is good!
Our neighbor always burns a pile of stuff on Earth Day and on every day. My kids grew up saying, "Every day is Earth Day," when they'd go outside and have to breathe her smoke. At least my kids know better.

Earth day is Sunday and the networks do not want to disturb their Sunday lineups. I feel like earth day this year is receving more attention, perhaps because of all the events in recent years that might be related to climate change.
