It indoctrinates it...

I would say that it does, but seeing the state of the education system in the country today, I doubt it. How can we have conformity when the students misbehave and act out and the teachers do nothing? When there is no punishment for students having sex in class, how can we have order? We aren't teaching conformity in school today, we are teaching anarchy. There is no discipline, no family values, no home life, and no respect for order or education. I blame both the republicans and the democrats on this one. They are to busy worrying about a president they can do nothing about to worry about the future of this country, and that is our youth. Conformity you say, I'd be happy on one that could pass a standardized test properly, read, write, and do basic math. Thanks to G.W. Bush and No Child Left Behind, all we are doing is keeping them ignorant and uneducated and telling them that it's o.k. to be failures, because the government will support you.

Yes, depending on allegiances. Naturally, education can breed conformity in language, approaches to problem solving, theories, and advancement.
Education, especially higher education also promotes diverse theories, education abroad, and conforms to a global standard, thank you.

It depends on what is taught and how it is taught. Our current (USA) public school system not only teaches, it demands conformity and obedience to authority, justified or not. And, by the same token, does not teach critical thinking, logic, or self-discipline.

Which not only breeds conformity, it is bery bad for our future as a free society.

I actually have heard youthful ones say it truly is little favor attempting to do staggering in college, because inspite of in the adventure that they do, the "gadget" will end them from succeeding in existence. youthful ones from uneducated houses come to school with plenty plenty a lot less practise than youthful ones of knowledgeable dad and mom. the former team is each and each and on a daily foundation reminded that they do now no longer understand many stuff and in many circumstances sense they're stupid. they could't bypass residing house and ask their dad and mom for homework help. between the undesirable and uneducated, there is different lack of self concept because existence has been annoying. i extremely applaud those dad and mom who push practise because the most to an mind-blowing destiny.
