I'm speaking in reference to dinasaurs being on Earth billions of years ago before any human, Darwinism, etc. I need some answers; you see, I grew up in the public school system, and what I learned in the schools contradicted what I was learning about the Bilbe. I dismissed everything as a kid, just assuming such late history was simply unimportant. Now, I'm teaching in a Christian school where anti-evolution is a huge focus... It's all new to me, and unfortunately I have gotten myself in trouble by trying to discuss the difference of the Bible with the evolution theory, including dinasaurs being on Earth before man. My principal has me reading "Refuting Comprimise" by Jonathan Sarfati, Ph.D. to help me understand. Unfortunately, I am finding this book to be very difficult to read. It's just causing me ask more questions than I ever cared to ask about what I learned in school versus what I learned in church. Any good answers?

I see your problem, and I feel your pain.
There are Christian schools that accept evolution as a part of God's plan.
There are also public schools where you are able to discuss faith issues with your kids, but they are vanishingly small due to fear of the ACLU.
Perhaps you would be happier teaching in a more open atmosphere.
I am touched by your honesty, and I sincerely hope you can find an answer to your dilemma.
God bless you, and know that I will be praying for you.

The trouble with Sarfati, Answers in Genesis and all the rest is that they completely ignore science. Evolution is a robust scientific theory with more evidence and more support than either of the theories of gravity. You can throw your brain out of the window and accept creationism or you can do what the vast majority of Christians in the world do and that is accept the fact and the theory of evolution and accept that Genesis is metaphorical - as many parts of the Bible are.

The site you should start with is the Talk Origins Archive http://www.talkorigins.org
Use their FAQ to get you thinking. Recommend it to your principal, I am sure s/he will gain from it as s/he has probably never read any science before.

Well, you could start by researching the definition of scientific theory and the definition of religious dogma, and realize how futile it is to compare the two.
