First of all, travelocity is not an airline. It is simply a ticket site. Most airlines are very competetive depending on where you are flying. If you are flying into one of the hubs like ATL that is dominated by one airline, you will pay a little bit more. Otherwise, you should be able to find just about the same fare from every airline. Exceptions do occur, obviously.

There are many good ticket sites that you can go to. Just do a search for airline tickets and see what comes up.

I went with southwest airlines, after a lot of research travelocity,orbitz,priceline etc., they turned out to be the cheapest, especially if you book two weeks in advance.

I've always liked www.sidestep.com . This site will search over 100 airline and travel sites such as Orbitz, Travelocity, Delta, Jet Blue, etc. and it will come back with prices. You can filter by what time of the day you want to travel, class, stops, etc. I like it.

I got my best deals on priceline.com. This for both airline tickets and hotels. Be prepared to use the computer for a while but you'll save a lot, The deals are better than travelocity

Travelocity is not an airline, for one thing. I always use orbitz. They have good deals for places southwest airlines doesn't fly. Southwest doesn't participate with the travel sites so you have to go with their website at: http://www.southwest.com/. It just depends though on where you are flying from so if southwest doesn't fly there, use http://www.orbitz.com/.
