swimming, elliptical.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

I observed the publication to be very informative and effortless to learn. I've misplaced 17 kilos in 12 days, I'm simply worried that I'm wasting an excessive amount of weight, too swiftly. I will admit I have not adopted the advisor precisely. I'm no longer sticking flawlessly to the indexed meals and meal plans (however in most cases) and doing little or no endeavor, however the weight maintains flying off. It obviously works and if I'd adopted it precisely I believe it could scare the residing daylights out of me due to the fact of the quantity that I'd lose. So thank you once more for the understanding. I've certainly not bought whatever like this earlier than due to the fact they're more often than not stuffed with trash, however 3WD has been a fine shock. Get began in these days!

I have rheumatoid arthritis, my husband has MS so I am familiar with exercise issues.

She needs to get moving first and foremost. Obviously, aquatics would be ideal. Now do not laugh when I say this...but Richard Simmons has a video tape for people who are in wheelchairs. This will not show results like you would for an hour aerobic session but it will kick start the process and hopefully build endurance to start other routines. I use Joyce Vedral videos. She has one that I enjoy that is called Fat Burning Workout, which is weight training. Having joint problems, it has to be modified but it will sculpt the heck out of you. And you do not need the triad weights...just use soup cans.

It is always a good idea to vary the exercises. Your body will get in a routine and slow in progress. I exercise about 4 - 5 times a week.

Good Luck with Mom!

if jogging turns out to be too rough on her knees try a walking workout building time every couple of days. It should be 30 minutes a day even if it is broken up into 3 ten minute segments. This is the best beginner workout and then build up from there increasing the cardio and adding muscle building and toning into it by the end of the 2nd month at least. My best advice is to start slow warm up to prevent injury and Good luck

The severity of her MS and bad kness will determine her range of exercise.

Swimming is a great source of exercise for physically challenged people. Even if you can't swim...the pressure is taken off the body as if zero gravity and the resistance against the water burns calories in the shallow end of the pool.

Jogging, Yoga and such will cause more damage than good in an MS patient with bad knees!
