As a catholic man i feel that priest should be able to marry or even possibly some day be female. I think if this was possible then the whole child molestation cases could have been avoided.

The bible never says that priest can not marry nor does it say women can't serve as priests. Those are rules and regulations made by men, not God. Jesus told the Pharisees, that they may the Word of God of non-effects because of their rules and traditions. As far as the molestation issue, it has nothing to do with priests not be able to marry. The reason you have pedophiles lurking in priest's position is because the authorities in the church turn a blind eye and they do not allow the Holy Spirit to be apart of the moving in that church. If the Holy Spirit is moving in a congregation of believers He will warn and expose those people who are pedophiles. Also, if anyone has a heart like that to molest children, he will be convicted under the Presence of the Holy Spirit. So, two things will happen, he will either repent or leave.

As I understand it, it goes against Catholic teachings.
I'm Pagan and as far as I am concerned woman should be able to be priests/priestesses, and priests be allowed to marry.
However, in my belief it wouldn't have any effect on the pedophilia within the Catholic Church. Protestant ministers marry and there have been cases of molestation within various Protestant Churches.
Pedophiles go where the children are.
To the person who made the comment about priests having sex change operations, in my opinion, that shouldn't have any bearing on their priesthood.
Just my opinion.

Well, ladies are to not be pastors, it says so in 1Timothy. If a lady can get around being the "husband of one wife" then she has other sins on her plate. I don't see why a priest can't marry a woman, but it has something to do with the Catholic doctrine and since I'm not Catholic, I don't know what it is. I think if a man is gonna molest a child, he will do it if he's married, single, straight or gay. I don't think molesting someone has anything to do with sex, but with the power of control they think they have, they're sick

Celibacy is not really a doctrine but a disciplinary rule so this can change. I guess women can be priests too. There is biblical warrant for this. The Blessed Mother was the first disciple of Jesus.

I too think that priests ought to be allowed to be married, but I am not sure that being married would have prevented them from molesting children. The attraction to have sex with children is different thanthe attraction to having sex with an adult

It's interesting to note that this thought existed among first Christians.
In 1 Timothy 4:3 Paul warns against false teachers, who would promote their own things.
God does advice that if someone has sexual feelings hard to control, it would be better to marry. (1 Cor 7:9) In this way things are done properly and prevents sin.
Sexual relations are only allowed between a man and his wife.

The lord our God says there is no marriages in heaven. They make them selfs holy unto God this way, as per 1 Corinthians 7. They r not to desire the flesh of THIS WORLD. But there is a way for a virgin priest to marry without lust. the father says SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD(for a wife) and all his righteousness. Everyone is in a spirit not of Gods that causes you to be attracted to one another, called lust or not to desire the flesh. This evil spirit u walk in, so do I so far, lets u be attractive to the opposite sex. Whats wrong with that u say, The devil shows u the wisdom what u call is beautiful, or handsome and put it on many. God is a holy God, and would not create sexual wisdom and put it on many people. It says U must be married in order for God to bless it, that is just a cover up God gave and excepted Lust. Romans 3:10-18 says we go our own way, and that brings missery and distruction. Genesis 6: 1-3 talks about everyone picking there own wifes, so God has not provided anyone with a wife. Not even adam and eve. For God said who told u u were naked. We stole the Body from God. Proverbs (the book of wisdom) 30:18-19 says we do not understand how to love a woman. But the devil will deceive many or all and u will get married, or not get married and lose your sole. For you will lose your soul cause of your love for one another, if u r not married. And he will take your wife away from u, if not this world(devorice) he will in heaven. God has another way. Seek his face for a lover not of the flesh, not of this world, but of the spirit and in heaven. I can only be done though faith. This wisdom is given to u by virgin seeking Gods face for many many yrs on it. Listen to what the world says about being a virgin, the devil is getting everyone to lose it quickly, he is taking something from u, a treasure, a hidden tresure. or he will say get married quickly cuss u probovly can't control yourselfs. But u will call me crazy, for u r blind and I cannot seem to make anyone see.
