How many people out there are good students, but still have to pay over 10K a year for school? It's not fair. Why doesn't Congress just put a cap on tuition already?
sorry to vent, but it's just kinda ridiculous.

Might sound rediculous the tuition, but a cap is not the answer entirely. Government caps do not always work and can be a detriment in some cases unless some of the root causes are handled. I live in an area that could have cuts in mass transportation with a large fare hike if the state does not come up with additional funds because of gasoline costs. If a spike in costs happen when educaiton is cut, it could hurt student services such as meal and dorm costs rise higher, shorter library hours, larger class size, less course selections, less campus transportation available, etc. I have included some free resources that could help you find money for college tuition.

Colleges are already suffering financially due to the extremely poor support their states are giving them. A cap on tuition would not help the situation.

Paying 10K per year for an excellent education is not expensive, in my opinion. If you are a good student, AND finances are a concern for you and your family, start looking at schools that offer scholarships for your given GPA and test scores, AND look at the lowest cost schools you can attend.

For example, Flagler College in FLorida is private and $19,000 per year. You have to be creative and look online to find the "bargain schools." It takes time and effort, but you search will be well worth the effort. Another inexpensive private school is York College of PA, at about $21,000 per year. THERE- you have two inexpensive private schools to investigate.

I can relate to what you are saying becouse I had a 3.5 gpa and i applyed for scholarships through my college and never received anything. my finacial aid wasn't increasing and the cost were. Now im stuck with student loans that i have to pay. I would suggest going to school online cause u dont have to pay for room and board and gas prices for your car.
