recording video on vcr?

i've already connected the vcr to the tv and i'm able to watch tv with the vcr on, but for some reason i can't watch any channels above 14 (without the vcr i can get about 77 channels). the vcr model is samsung vr5607. i don't have the manual anymore and i can't find it online anywhere (for free at least).
is there anyway to fix it?

Select menu and try to find the option for a "Channel Scan" on the VCR.
Change it from ANT to Cable and start a new channel scan. It should be able to find all your channels
