i would suggest a light yellow...has potential to be romantic...but bright and cheery...it will make you want to get up and start your day! Yellow can be accented with a dark blue or even a marroon or dark red...both very romantic colors! But a light colored paint gives you freedom to change the whole look of a room with new pillows...or comforter!

My bedroom is a camel color on the bottom, with a white chair rail and white crown molding. The top half of the walls is a slightly lighter color of the camel! I have it accented with very rich colors of burgandy and gold and cream. I have a black cast iron bed with high posts and detailed ornamental work on the head and footboards. The other furniture is out of cherry. I like the lighter colored walls because it opens up the room, but the dark colored accents give the richness and romantic aspects that I really wanted!
It all really depends on what your view of romantic is. Do you want like a bourdoir romanticness, or are you going for a classic look! Some people think romantic and think bright red and black with lace and stuff! It is all dependant on your personal taste!
Good luck and hope this helped some!

When you choose paint for any room you should consider 2 factors: what the room is used for and where it is located in the building. If it's a bedroom, choose colors that create a sense of tranquility and relaxation, ones that soothe. Blues and greens are great for that purpose. When you choose paint you should also think about where the the room faces to the outside of the building: ie if the room has full sun light all day, you wouldn't choose "hot" colors such as bright yellows, oranges and reds. However, if the room has very little natural light, then those same colors can create warmth.

I agree with Kim P.
Would suggest reader take advantage of this color by addition of mirrior squares, 24 inches to a side, set the
length of bed in checkerboard pattern up both walls on either side and above the sleeping platform. Saw this about 20
years ago in hedonistic Napa County, California, except walls were a pale washed-out blue.

never in a million years would I have thought this true, but using light greys makes a room look so elegant. It's calming and neutral so you can use many colors as accent. It doesn't sound pretty, but I assure you it is gorgeous. I painted my sons room in grey and we were all amazed at how well it turned out.
