you will end up gaining fat because all you will lose is water weight and muscle and slow down your metabolism dramatically.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

If you want to lose weight and keep it off (as opposed to gaining it all back pulus a lot more), then don't do extreme diets.

You may lose weight, but within two years you'll be even worse off than you are now.

If you cut way back on your intake, your body goes into starvation mode, and really conserves fat, to prevent you from dieing from malnurishment.

Eat reasonably. Try to take off between 2 and 4 pounds a month.

No doubt you will end up looking fatter.... nothing worse than having ugly excess weight.... you need to eat white meats also to make sure you are getting the required proteins to keep you healthy and to also keep the elasticity in your skin.

Probably not. You need enough protein for your body weight, plus complex carbs, three times a day.
