is german sherpard dogs difficult to maintain?

well iam interested in getting a german sherpard puppy,,,is a rant ok to have?

I am wondering if you have dogs before. A German Shepherd is not really a difficult dog to maintain, overall. The do require some grooming and training at an early age. I tell people that right now the puppy is really cute, but if you don't make sure that they know who is the boss at the start, then you might possibly have problems. I like to play with mine and train them at the same time.
Important things to teach you dog are sit, down, stay, load up ( to get in a vehicle), out ( I tell mine this whan I want them to get out of the house, whereever), and come. Always praise them with lots of love when they do something good. DON'T HIT THEM WHEN (FOR EXAMPLE )THEY DON'T COME. IT WILL ONLY CONFUSE THEM!!!
Make sure that you have a good strong bond with your puppy and they will love you forever.
Before you do anything, talk to an owner of a German Shepherd and also do some research on the breed as well as talk to a breeder. A good breeder will tell you all the good as well as bad things about the breed.
Make sure that the parents are OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) certified ( if you plan to get the dog from a breeder. There are a few things that German Shepherds have problems with - hip displaysia, etc.

I got a German Shepard about 3 years ago. They are very active and need a lot of "play time". They are smart so it was quite easy training him at a early age and he listens extremely well. I agree, if they aren't trained early they become aggressive towards anyone they don't know (old neighbor's dogs were like this). But a great dog to have overall, low maintenance.

puppies can be a handful if you don't train it soon. German Shepered are a smart dog. So it should be easy. Make sure you train it asap and treat it properly. if not then you on for an aggresive dog and might even attack you when its old.( which is very dangerous) .
