ok heres proof we are on the front lines and a morter round goes off hes sitting behind the truck crying and praying to god. if he doesn't beleive there is god why does he call out to him and thats not the only time either

Death bed conversion. I think alot of people believe in God but they try to convince themselves that their is no God because they want to live the way they want. Some people don't want to believe because they don't want to be held accountable for their actions. God has commandments and teaches us the best way to live. If we apply what we learn from the Bible we are going to be successful. If we don't we just end up hurting ourselves. http://www.watchtower.org/

If I was being shot at, I wouldn't call out to "god," I would be calling out some swears.

The Romans used to call out to Mars and Jupiter, Norsemen to Thor. Its cultural.

I don't and I'm an atheist.
The ones who are atheist and say God do so in a casual manner (e.g., "Oh my god!") without any literal intention.
No atheist would call out to a being (s)he doesn't believe in for help.

I haven't said "Oh, my God!" in context a single time since becoming an atheist.
It's something that just gets stuck in your mind, simple as that, and nobody that says it is ever actually referring or talking to or about God.
You might compare it to saying "Holy Cow!" if you're not a Hindu.

If you think atheists actually have a belief in your god just because they use the word then presumably you must believe in Thor because you use the word 'Thursday', yes? I think you need to re-think what you've been thinking...

I am an atheist and I don't use the word "god" when I'm in trouble or shot. I would swear, like using the word "s**t" or "f**k", so where do u get our information from, ********!

As far as I'm aware Ive never heard of that happening,and I can assure you it would be the last thing I would do. Maybe wishful thinking on your part.

Alot of ppl say they are atheists because they dont go to church..but they can still believe in god, im sure everyone believes to some extent
