It is His Spirit.
Many prophecies have come to past as they are written.
The unfulfilled prophecies, believe it when you see it.

The purpose is have faith in the concepts and not in the actual verbage. If you need verbage, check out a series of books called The Message by Eugene Peterson. Translated from the original Greek/Hebrew documents These books of the bible written in twentieth century English with ole world flavor. Beginning of each book or chapter Mr. Peterson gives you a bio of the author or prophet and background of setting along with other things or events happening in the world at the same time. The most accurate bible published today! 85 % accurate! You can't be anymore accurate because the differences in the two languages. There are some words that simply don't translate!

God provided checks within the text. For instance, prophecies spoken by one prophet might not come to pass for hundreds of years, far after the book was committed to paper. These could not be changed after the fact because of the way the priests and scribes documented their holy scriptures.
Also, there is the test of the promises given by God, which He surely fulfills when we step out in faith. My favorite is the one that says we cannot outgive God. 'Try Me, in the giving of tithes and offerings...' Just be sure to read the whole thing, and follow the instructions. That's where the 'name it and claim it' nutcases go wrong.

Listen to this 100% true story. I once doubted the validity of the Bible. But I prayed about it; I prayed that if I can find one verse in the Bible that says it was truly inspired by God, I would believe. Sure enough, I happened to stumble across a verse that said, " the Scripture is the inspired Word of God." Cool Huh? That was a paraphrase and I forgot the reference, but if you don't believe me, check it out at Biblegateway.com.

What convinced me, were basically 2 things:
1. Fulfilled prophecies, and
2. Accurate science.
The bible have many things foretold that has happened, backed up by history.
When the bible touches on scientific subjects it's 100 % accurate. Such as the shape of the earth. Many years before science proved it God had already said it.
Proves, to me, the validity of God as the Author.

Which version of the bible do you mean? Because there is no "THE" bible any more.
There are hundreds upon thousands of versions. Aside of the divisions between Catholic and Protestant bibles.
NAB
NASB
JB
NJB
KJV
NKJV
DRV
NLT
GNB
ESB
I could go on and on and on. Each of those would be in English. We have no way of knowing if the translators got things right.
Think about the error Coke made when going to Japan.
"Coke adds life" became "Coke brings your ancestors back from the dead."
Bibles that are word for word translations are far better than bibles that have been "interpreted." When a bible is "interpreted" the interpretor takes a sentence or paragraph and tries to "clarify" to you, the reader, what this means.
I prefer word for word translations and let the Holy Spirit tell me what is meant.
The Book of Mormon is not a bible.

There are Books for every Religion all of which claim their's is the "True Book of God". The best test for One to find out which is really true is to test yourself on how you have been in your life concerning your relationship with God personally.
Printed words in this lifetime have have been tampered with great lies that became the truth among men because the liers themselves have started to believe in their own lies thus the reason why have been living in the most dangerous period of human lives.
The Old Testament of God handed down to be written by the descendants of Abraham is still effective as of today. None is to be deleted even to least stroke of a pen, none is to be considered obsolete. The New Testament of God shall not be written on tablets, not on papers and not on any kind of surface or materials. The real New Testament of God will all be written in the heart and mind of everyone. In a time when your fellow man will no longer teach you to know your God because our God will plant in us all His words. Not the history but your true relationship with HIM.
Through all the generations to come He will only tell you to live righteously as a righteous man should live because that is the image HE created in man. He will furtherly ask you to show mercy to everyone because that is the likeness HE has created in us. With that, He will Bless every walk and path you choose for every journey to the destiny you created for your own glory so that God may also glorify you.
The wickedness of the wicked shall be charge against anyone who defy what He planted in you and no one shall be held accountable for your mistake except you. Get wisdom and for every wisdom strive to understand. The fear of God is not to be from HIS wrath but the from like a child who cries the moment he lost sight of his mother. Love God not because it is your obligation but it really is pouring out from your heart.

There is no test to prove the Bible is the Word of God. It was inspired by God. God put in the hearts of the writers to write the Bible and He told them what to write.

You do not "test" God. You believe and have faith in Him because He is our creator and because He loves ALL who will believe in Him (which is His Children). The Bible promotes "love God," "love one another," "believing in Him," "prophecies of Jesus throughout the Old Testament," "prophecies fulfilled by Jesus in the New Testament," "witnesses," "testimoney," "Jesus' invitation for salvation," etc., etc. These concepts would be futile for Satan to claim as he is a liar, deceiver, hater, killer, stealer, etc., etc. Please trust God and have faith. Jesus died for your sins already. All you have to do now, is ask Him into your heart and confess your sins. His redeeming love does the rest.

Ask God Himself. His answers stand alone, and stand against the reasoning of man.
I have asked God, and through His Holy Spirit, I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and the Bible is the Word of God as far as it is translated correctly.
Anyone who believes that the Bible is the final word of God should just look around at the contention and confusion of churches claiming to lead us to Christ. If the Bible was perfect, there would only be one true church of Christ.
Anyone who will seek to know the truth will find it. But you have to be unafraid of truth to receive more.
