So from what I understand... someone can flag your question or answer, yahoo will not review it, just take that users word for it, and after a certain amount of abuse reports your account is shut down? Does anybody else think this is wrong? If this is the case then I am done with yahoo answers. See you guys later!

It's the case, all right. If someone gets a bug up their bustle and decides to report you for anything and everything, you can lose your account without warning. It's happened to a lot of folks here, especially popular people or those with lots of points.
Yahoo is either going to have to do something to correct the situation, or else the only people who are going to be here with either be new or the ones doing the reporting.

I was cited a week and a half ago over a false accusation, and I got a form letter that said "If you feel this content was removed in error, please contact Customer Care and tell us why." on the bottom. I've written them three times so far and all I get back each time is a form letter that says "We will investigate reports of possible violations of the Yahoo! Terms of Service and the Yahoo! Answers Community Guidelines and take the appropriate action."

It is true, mortal. Even I, the solar god Ra, have had his account closed. This is the way of the interweb, I have discovered.
However, do not fear. If enough mortals band together on this network, which I understand is a series of tubes, then they shall clog the system and prevent the demon moderators from deleting the accounts of good-hearted individuals.
You have the sun on your side. Never forget that, my child.

Seems to be the case. I think if you get a certain amount of reports within a unspecified period of time your account is deleted.
Sucks don't it!

Yes it is wrong but easy to set another account up, or a 2nd account just in case it happens so no big deal.

I recently lost a number of points for no explained reason. I presume someone disagrees with or finds my position on religion and relationship with Christ threatening or offensive. I got no explanation or warning.

Easily and without question they will delete answers and suspend users. The Y!A team is either nonexistent or lazy.

Yup - thats how it works. Nice huh? KNow you know why the fundies abuse the reporting function - no one checks on their honesty - not even their non-existence God stops them from being dishonest.

People will be switching to Google. They are releasing a new "question and answer board"/"social networking" site.
