I sort of believe in God. I will not join any religion, because a lot of people don't like religion and I don't agree with religion either. I hate their hypocirsy, their strict laws, and their always dire predictions about the end of the world. I won't go to church or join any religion, but I still will pray to God, if he does exist.

You are right. It is not about religion, it is about relationship. The living God made you to love Him. So how's it going? He is still there, waiting for you to accept the reality that He loves you. He has been faithful to your relationship, have you? It is between you and Him. No one, not any religion and doctrine, can do this for you. The real question is... do you love Him?

The church is not about religion... it is a gathering of people who love and know the living God, coming together to praise and worship Him. What you should find there is fellowship and discipleship. It's the opportunity for sharing and caring with one another, and with the community. A place to study and grow in our love and knowledge of God, and of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Will you find hypocrites there? Of course... we are all in different stages, growing as Christians. You find some very loving and wonderful people there too. Don't let a few bad apples spoil the other baskets for you. Knowing, understanding and accepting this is part of loving and caring about others. You would expect to see sick and hurting people in a hospital... you should expect to see sinful and hurting people at churches, who are there to be healed as well. The real joy is becoming involved with the healer, which is another reason to be there.

I hope you find some truth in all this. Our faith should not be based on religion and doctrine, which is nothing more than man's attempt to organize and categorize something that can not be contained, but should be allowed to flow freely. Love is about freedom and surrender, joy and pain, peace and action. Above all, it is our ongoing love and our dynamic relationship with the living God.

you are confuse between religion and a relationship with GOD Jesus Christ. Either you believed or not, there no sort. Religion is into how many members they can get to join. You are not ready to build a relationship with Christ because you want to live life the way you see fit (pick and choose). Strict law you live by law daily where do you think our law came from? Take a guess. I will keep you in prayer that GOD will unharden your heart.

Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
So if Jesus Himself finds it a need for you to belong to The Church than isn't that enough also you said you believe, well thats good satan does to, in James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Now the church in Rev.12:17 The Remnant [Church] was hated by satan and that church is the ones that keep ALL the commandments of God and had the testimony of Jesus Christ and yes there is bad people in church but remember its the MESSAGE "AND NOT" The Messanger. i mantain that The Seventh Day Adventist Church IS that Church, find out more free bible lessons www.amazingfacts.org talk to me also email me at wgr88@yahoo.com

Well you are right. Religion is man-made with what man says you have to believe what do. True Christianity is a relationship with Jesus Christ. He is the only way to heaven, regardless of what anybody else says. And if you do not have this. You will burn an eternity in hell for rejecting the sacrifice that Jesus made to redem you

You don't have to have a religion to be spiritual. You can speak to god however you see him, her, it, without belonging to a religion. Religion is just a way for us to share our spirituality with others. We are social animals and we have a need to share those things that are important to us. When your spirituality becomes so important that you need to share it you will be able to find a religion that you can use to share your spirituality without giving the failings of humanity a second thought. The Christians say we are all sinners but I say that we are all people. We each have faults and strengths. That is just part of being human. It takes a strong spiritual side to look beyond the failings of others and accept them for who they are.

That is fine and I understand what you say. Remember though there seems to be a lot of power in group prayer. It seems to brig tangible results. I am not a prayer myself, if I want to talk to God I use just everyday language. There is the tradition too in religeon, there is something meditative in sitting in a church. But if you can fid that elsewhere in your life I think that is fine

If you believe in God, then you believe in religion. You just don't want to participate in any organized religion, and you don't have to. You can pray to God and believe in Him to your little heart's consent. Religious practices and churches have nothing to do with whether or not you believe in or worship God.

One does not join a religion like one joins the Elks or a Fraternity. One follows a spiritual path. There is a huge difference and I hope you discover it.

"And without faith it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exsists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him."
Hebrews 11:6

The church in the New Testament is simply the body of the saved and Jesus Christ is its Head. "...Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body." (Eph. 5:23).
The apostles and prophets were servants who revealed by inspiration the will of the Head. "...It has now been revealed by the Spirit to His holy apostles and prophets..." (Eph. 3:5) "...(Eph. 2:19-20).

... for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ." 1 Corinthians 10:4
Thus, anyone who obeys the commandments of the Lord as revealed by the apostles and prophets becomes part of the body or household. He then continues in a life of obedience to the Head.
The authority is not in the body, but in the Head (Eph. 1:22-23; Col. 1:18).
The ruling is not in the kingdom, but in the King (Heb. 7:1-2; Rev. 1:5-6).
The authority is not in the church, but in Christ (Matt. 28:18; 1 Pet. 3:22).
