My b/f and I don't agree that it actually matters how you build a taco. I care and like to first put the beef, then cheese, then sour cream, onion, lettuce and tomato. He thought I was crazy when he handed me a taco that had the sour cream first, then cheese, onion, lettuce, tomato and the beef on top!!!... and I didn't want it. yuck! He said no one cares how a taco is put together. I think he is wrong. I think most people care and the majority like 'em the way I stack 'em. What do you think? How do you like your taco's? Does it matter to you?

Well, its not like its the end of the world or anything, but his variation doesn't sound that good to me. I generally follow your pattern, 'cept in lieu of sour cream I go with a nice hot salsa.

However, if that is the only thing you have to argue about then you're lucky. And don't worry, most of us guys are trainable

Its weird but it has to be in a specif order for me first I put the meat of course then the cheese on top so it will melt next the taco sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, sour cream so it doesn't melt and finally black olives just cus they look nice.

The order I put it is goopy heavy stuff first... meat and refried beans. Then the lighter stuff on top. Also, with the meat on top, you end up with less since the taco is a semi-circle. Meat on the bottom = a more meaty taco.

But if someone made me a taco the other way around.
I'd still eat it and not complain. There's really nothing wrong with it and taste the same. Just look at it as a mini taco salad.

I am really anal about how I like certain foods & tacos are one of them! It has to be layered into the shell this way - meat first, then sour cream, then cheese, then a sprinkle of salsa ( I'm allergic to tomatos & lettuce just kills me to eat since I had gallbladder surgery)......Got to have refried beans with shredded cheese & sour cream on the side - along with an icy glass of sangria!!

I have to have things in a certain order. I think his way sounds gross even though its the same ingredients. I put beef, salsa lettuce, sour cream, cheese.

I put hamburger first, cheese so it will melt, onion, tomato, lettuce. My husband likes salsa which he puts on after the cheese.

You build it the common way but who really cares.
