Good point. Even Matin Luther said that Logic was the enemy of Faith.

I just took the Texas science TAKS test there were 11 questions out of like 55 that mentioned the word evolution, and some others had to do with that theory, so the U.S. is far from a theocracy like some atheists seem to think. It is not the Middle Ages theists will allow for almost all science, unless it does not destroy life.
O and should we ban religion worked real well for the Soviet Union, right?

Perhaps it would work better if god were banned in the name of education, because any old ignorant fool can be religious, but it takes brains to learn.

Well, since there is a political element in the US that is essentially the American Taliban I'd say there are people already working on it.
PS - When we are lined up against the wall, be sure to mention that you asked this question so i can say 'Oh yeahhhh" just before they shoot us.

I do not believe education and science are the enemy of God.
God IS science, God is education, medicine, history,love , joy and peace. He is the creator of the thing the educators are studying!
Without God....there would be nothing !

God is very big on education:
" O my people, hear my teaching;
listen to the words of my mouth.
I will open my mouth in parables,
I will utter hidden things, things from of old-
what we have heard and known,
what our fathers have told us.
We will not hide them from their children;
we will tell the next generation
the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD,
his power, and the wonders he has done.
He decreed statutes for Jacob
and established the law in Israel,
which he commanded our forefathers
to teach their children,
so the next generation would know them,
even the children yet to be born,
and they in turn would tell their children.
Then they would put their trust in God
and would not forget his deeds
but would keep his commands.
They would not be like their forefathers—
a stubborn and rebellious generation,
whose hearts were not loyal to God,
whose spirits were not faithful to him."
Psalm 78:1-8

It already is. Hard-line religious people don't send their children to state schools, they brainwash, sorry - educate them at home or send them to private religious schools. So much for the enlightenment...

Wow, imagine the tax money that will become available! All the leftover school buildings could be used to house and feed the poor.
