This is from an atheist:
"When people talk about miracles in the Bible, they usually say that they believe in them no matter how ridiculous they sound. People will then say if God exists and is all powerful, then don't you think he could make someone turn into salt or make someone live to be over 900 years old? Hello? You just took something that you have no scientific evidence for and you used it to try to prove something you have no scientific evidence for (a God existing and the miracles mentioned in the Bible)."
One of the best ways to get around people's doubts is to directly challenge some of the agruments that atheists typically come up with. This argument is dumb, because it's missing the point entirely. God does not provide DIRECT scientific evidence of his existance on purpose. However, he does provide indirect evidence. It's called the Bible. You are not supposed to get to Heaven from finding knowledge that has been scientifically tested.

You get to Heaven through reading the Bible and praying. God is outside of space and time, so of course the evidence is not there. There is nothing hard to understand about that.
Do you agree?

God wants you to have character and if he let us know that he existed, then our life would be too easy.

I think he provides evidence everyday...
Look at the beautiful sky, Look at all of the recovered alcholics and drug addicts who found god and it has changed their lives for the better
Look at people who are about to kill themselves, and after their attempt (and it has been proven) that they beg god to not take them...and he doesn't
Look at the Man in the VT shooting's..a 76 year old who helped so many students
Look at 9/11 and if most of you didn't know 1/2 of the people who were suppose to be in the WTC were late or sick that they (including my cousin and uncle...different sides of the family)
Those are miracles...

Am I right in thinking your argument boils down to:
God exists because the bible says he does (indirect evidence).
If there is no direct evidence of God, and the only indirect evidence is a single book, why is ther any reason to believe in him?

The Bible can't prove anything if the people you're trying to convince doubt it's accuracy.
"God wants you to have character and if he let us know that he existed, then our life would be too easy."
Supposedly, God gave direct evidence that he existed through Jesus two thousand years ago. Did the people who supposedly witnessed this have it "too easy"?

Thousands of other gods also provide indirect evidence through religious texts. See the problem?

Any argument that uses the bible in any way to reference proof of God's existence is, well, moronic.

By grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God lest anyone should boast.
No one earns their way into heaven by praying and reading the Bible. If you read your Bible you would know that.
For God so loved the world...ring a bell?
YOU CANNOT EARN OR WORK YOUR WAY INTO HEAVEN. God is not Santa and does not make a list and check it twice.

But God loves us and is so desperate that we return his love that he will damn us for eternity if we don't. How can he be ineffable at the same time?
How can God come to Earth at least twice (once to meet Abraham, and once as Jesus) and then be so hard to find, when our salvation is at stake?

We do have direct evidence that you are an idiot.
And that is enough for me.
That's the fun of religion.
It lets idiots like you pretend that you know things without getting a legitimate education.
